NEW Megadroid N1

Recommended Posts

By the way, how many times did u hit SL for your live account last month?

@vikram -- IBFX is an NFA broker, so you would automatically get NFA/FIFO trades regardless of what settings you use. So, typically, you should have fewer losses than someone who can hedge/non-fifo.

@rex -- override = true uses the hours you set manually. override = false uses buit-in logic's defaults. Set it to true.

Anyway: It is my suggestion to all following this method that you set your "aggressive on" pairs to NFA = true.

kudos if helpful ;)

I've been following this excellent Megadroid N1 thread but did not get to try out the modded Megadroid as I could not leave my laptop on 24 hours. I just got my first VPS subscription but it's at the lower end of the scale with only 384mb of RAM. Is this sufficient to run Theozaki's 10 pairs strategy? What's the minimum PC resources that we should have to run Megadroid N1 with 10 pairs?

Thanks in advance.

@rex: I've only been live for 3 weeks now with this setup, and ive hit stop loss twice so far with aggressive off for my live account. It should be noted that (as can be seen in my previous post) that my FxPro demo has non-agg SL's for both EURJPY and USDJPY whereas my Go Markets live had only the non-agg SL for USDJPY (irrespective of aggressive trades). So, Go Markets never even took the EURJPY trade.

It does depend on your balance and lot size, but one of the advantages of trading theozaki's portfolio of 10 currencies with the news filtering is that you often have several wins in some that negate the one or two losses. For example, assuming I had NFA mode set "on" on my FxPro demo account, I would have had 2 losses of about 85 dollars and 5-6 wins amounting to about 45 dollars, making my total loss around 40.

I am curious, however... since there was medium impact news today... I wonder if any filtration for medium/low impact news would be helpful. Although, not every loss can (or should) be avoided. Sometimes you just have to accept that losses happen even with the best of systems. I think the lesson learned here, for me at least, is that aggressive mode should only be used with NFA = true.

After day 2 account at -2.28%. If anything, after a month or three I'll see what if any pairs are worth it. Will update once a week or so, not one for checking performance of these kinds of things daily as I prefer to spend my time studying manual trading. Edited by forexample

In reviewing my accounts, I am noticing that the JPY pairs are the most troublesome over the past 2 weeks. Almost all losses have been due to USDJPY or EURJPY. Since they only account for 2 of the 10 pairs, I may turn them off on my live account. I am beginning to get the impression that Megadroid pro (N1 or otherwise) is not best suited to the JPY pairs. Just a quick update.

I am going to give USD/JPY i more week before taking it off Other than EUR/USD which is the best performing pair so far

Thanks

Hi Vikram: For now, I have aggressive off on my live account and aggressive on on my demo account for the next 2 weeks. If all goes as planned, I will turn aggressive on on the live account in 2 weeks after further testing. So, in terms of suggestions, Id suggest to proceed with caution at this time re: turning aggressive on. At any rate -- whenever aggressive is on, I would suggest ALWAYS having "NFA = true" set as well!

Thanks noziggity81 just to reconfirm Aggressive off

Hi vikram -- I never got any trades on friday, live or demo. Unless specifically enabled MD doesnt trade on fridays. (not sure what the 1.21 settings are since i use pro only). I am, however, switching my demo account over to MD Pro 1.2 XE N1 from 1.01ee N1 starting tomorrow for two weeks forward testing. I do have sunday and friday and month end trading enabled, as well as NFA and aggressive on.

Come on guys -- I would really like to hear from more of you. Stop trolling and contribute your results!

My demo (FxPro) running Megadroid Pro XE 1.2 N1 (0.1 mini fixed, aggressve on, friday & sunday trading true, NFA true, theozaki's trading hours and news filtering) has fared well today. 9 trades: 7 winners, 1 small loser, and 1 still open in small drawdown. Profit = approx 60 dollars/pips profit today, winners and losers accounted for.

The trade presently open in drawdown, wouldn't you have guessed, is EURJPY (again)... continuing to mount the evidence that USDJPY and EURJPY are difficult pairs for scalping with this robot.

Hi Noziggi,

I've tested MD XE on my demo account today (aggresive off, trade on sundays, NFA true) and here are my results today:

Kindly note that I use the default trading hours and set override trade times set to "false". In fact, I had some confusion over this over the past months and did find that it is still profitable for me. Like yourself, I'm gonna test it out over the next 2 weeks before I go live and I will enable it to trade whenever it possible can.

Good luck to all.

I couldn't run the 10-pairs strategy with the small RAM available on my VPS, so I'm experimenting trading AUDUSD (cos' Theozaki had good results with this pair) 24 hours on both S1 and S2 with 1.01ee N1, Recovery Off. Probably ill-advised, but I'm just curious to see how it'll do. Hope curiousity doen't kill this cat, not withstanding it's just demo!

Anyway, the first 4 trades closed this morning (started last night 7 July):

2010.07.12 07:05 sell 0.08 audusd 0.8762 0.8825 0.8702 2010.07.12 07:55 0.8747 0.00 0.00 0.00 12.00

2010.07.12 04:23 buy 0.08 audusd 0.8747 0.8703 0.8807 2010.07.12 07:05 0.8762 0.00 0.00 0.00 12.00

Open trade:

2010.07.12 07:58 buy 0.08 audusd 0.8741 0.8698 0.8791 0.8745 0.00 0.00 0.00 3.20 (Aggressive)

So far so good... but it's strange that S1 had shown a better profit!
