murtamad Posted July 13, 2010 Report Share Posted July 13, 2010 I notice on FXDD, MD Pro N1 (EURUSD) had the Not Trading message but not on Tadawulfx. The difference is FXDD is +3 GMT while TDFX is +2. Both are on daylight savings. Normally they are +2 and +1 I believe. Any ideas why TDFX is not showing the Not Trading message? The losers were EURJPY (no shocker there) and EURCHF. In reviewing the historical win/loss data for the past few weeks, I am adjusting the hours of USDJPY and EURJPY again from 20-22 to 21-22. Most of my losses are coming from USDJPY and EURJPY. The 2 losses accounted for about 50 dollars, but the 9 wins accounted for about 80 dollars, leaving the session profit around 30 dollars for the day. So, overall profitable, but the killer each session is repeatedly the JPY pairs. I'll continue to monitor them and report back. If hour adjustments haven't eliminated the consistent losses at the end of two weeks (from yesterday) then i will discontinue these pairs. This is really strange I too have these on Gomarkets live account and mine is on a vps, but it only took 4 trades, 3 in profit and one loss! But for others and in case i sounded confusing: If you attach the ffcal to a chart, it only shows ONE previous news and ONE incoming news, WHICHEVER came last or will come next. If you have ffcal indicator on the chart, with medium on and high on, it will show the last and next, whether it's a medium or high. In your case, you must have seen the last news, which was a medium, about 5-6 hours ago (current time). To all: Don't worry about your broker's gmt setting when it comes to avoid news. The ffcal indicator checks the gmt automatically, independently from the EA, and as the news are downloaded in gmt time, it should always tell you correctly the minutes until the next news or passed from the last news. noziggity81 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
noziggity81 Posted July 14, 2010 Report Share Posted July 14, 2010 To everyone saying they are having different numbers of trades from what I've posted: Keep in mind my spread limit is set to -1.0 (no limit) not 0.0 (default). So I am taking more risk by disregarding the spread limit defaults. And yes, I use XE 1.2 on demo, FxPro, and 1.01ee on live, Go Markets. Today was a bit of a hard day. Some good wins, but a massive GBPCHF loss erased them, and then some. I continue to make modifications to the strategy. As of right now, I've disabled aggressive on GBPCHF, USDJPY, and EURJPY. If you review an older post by Rio regarding MD Pro XE 1.2 in general, you will notice that these three pairs are considered poor performers and have been for some time with MD (and scalping in general). I testing 24 hours trading (only EURUSD, aggr. on, 600/600 Hing impact news filter) from 2010.07.08, and the results still very impressive. 19 trades with only one SL and some small wins and losses makes 90$ profit with 0.1 lot. I'm not sure, but I checked the code about that message and it happens when the indicator checks if, and I quote: "The function returns the status of the main connection between client terminal and server that performs data pumping. It returns TRUE if connection to the server was successfully established, otherwise, it returns FALSE. " I suppose that the problem is either on your internet connection or on the Tadawul server. If it's not your internet connection, then if you have a chance, have a chat with tadawul about that. They are probably gonna give you another server for you to put on the login window. You can check before if there is another server on the login windows that you can try. So it would seem that you are correct that the problem probably lies with Tadawulfx. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
