  1. This EA is being hacked as I am posting this on the FX-Open russian forum. There are a lot of good hackers working on it. Funny thing that these developers think that a DLL is preventing good hackers from seeing what's inside the DLL. The Warez DLL Inspector fully decompiles the DLL and give the hacker the source code so it is easy to follow from that point. Even the virus envelopment protection does not present a huge challenge any longer. All one needs is a a valid key for the EA+DLL and the rest will become history ;) I will keep an eye on the forum thread and post the educated EA as soon as it is available.

  2. Having now read through these 35 pages, I think I will start running V7 exclusively (FXCM MT4 platform) and see what happens.

Without being disrespectful, if everyone jumps to testing the latest version, we may never know how a stable version performs over time.

Likewise, we still need every new version to be examined.

I have the same philosophy as my Medical Practitioner; he welcomes new drugs, but wants to see that they are safe before he prescribes them to his own patients.

I like your analogy. Best is to stick to time tested and reliable stuff. We need new people to test the newest versions so maybe the group can compromise between earlier versions and latest 8.3. I can predict with certainty from looking at the code: you will not be happy with 8.3.. too few trades and trades are not profitable. Still if the market changes to rangebound instead of the EURUSD falling off the cliff.. 8.3 may do really well ;)

  3. i have posted the link for the two day forward test which grabbed 119 pips...not 110 as i earlier posted.the post needs to be checked by admins so wait it out.i will also put all files for the ea here together in one post soon.

a backtest is requested earlier too but no backtest posted here.i make the same request once more, kindly make backtest on different tf for gbbpusd and eurusd and share them here.

Running a forward test without a proper backtest is like building a house without a good foundation. I know the backtest takes a long time to complete but you can always run the backtest in "control" mode just to get a rough idea of how the EA will perform. My own backtest that I ran from 2005 onward is bad but I may not have the correct presets for this EA.

  4. In 6.6 or 7 there are none that I know of. These 2 versions run flawlessly so I feel in many ways the developer has gone backwards instead of forward. In latest 8+ versions few bugs to be corrected especially in 8.3 which the author knows about. If you decide to give 8.3 a shot try other different entry conditions than "0" which may provide better results and more trades.

  5. Just to inform you guys about how versions 8 or higher are trading. This is a comment posted by the developer on the Alpari forum:

"On the condition of opening a "0" you will see 3-4 transactions per month, is in the best case."

This is on D1 timeframe however don't expect lots of trades on H1 or H4, maybe at the most 1-3 per week. I still recommend v 6.6 or v7.0 which trades frequently.

  6. Actually, gave that a try and I get the zero divide error. I got that before also when I tried to make it trade 14 pairs as well. Not sure how to get around it, obviously I have all the pairs on Go so not sure how to fix.

Reason this is happening is that you don't have any data for some of the pairs. Make sure you manually open charts for all these 14 pairs and walk through all timeframes to make sure you populate with data. Restart the platform and it should work fine.

  7. fxnight,

I agree totally - it also makes it hard work to translate each new version lol. I'm reluctant to create a translation for v8.2 right now because I think it's going to change yet again quite soon.

Because v8.2 is supposed to tighten up trailing stops and rely less on RSI, it's worth creating an English version, so I'll create a version soon with at least the screen details and interactive windows and parameters translated.

    Hello,

I would wait a bit for him to fix some bugs in 8.2. For one he mistakenly uses 2 Global Variables, one called "opentime" and the other "open_time" so some issue with the zeropoint storage and retrieval. He also has a bug with the "first_run" flag. If you disable the Extern Advisors and do your settings and reenable the EA does not run properly and quits trailing and exiting its trade at win or loss. Not to mention the occassional "zero_divide" specials served with hot sauce. I feel like this guy is mostly observing his own setup (whatever that may be) and making changes to the EA to mainly suit him. In the process of not giving the code time to settle, lots of bugs are released every time. I hope he can slow down for a while and simply just release major revisions not just observation fixes.

    Good luck

  8. BasketBull802.rar is released:

    http://forum.alpari.ru/post1888046-556.html

    With:

    bb_intraday_auto_802_h1m30_8_microusd.rar (two threads below)

Seems that the developer is changing his mind on a day to day basis on what constitutes good entry signals. While this may be good for the improvement of the concept it makes it so much more difficult to forward test since by the time any conclusion is drawn a new concept comes out!

  9. This EA is a disaster waiting to happen. Look at the trade size that it is placing. It starts with 0.20-0.30 lots and then if it gets it wrong it puts 1.50-2.20 lots to make up for it. I would recommend sleeping well at night and staying away from waking up to a disaster one rainy morning ;)

    Cheers

  10. The default set file included with v8 seems to have trailing stop disabled? On my screen the only two options I have highlighted (which I assume meaning they are active) is 'breakdown from extreme (359)' and 'disable all trails'. Anyone have any idea what breakdown from extreme means?

I've had a basket open since last night, which went about 125 pips in profit at one point today. Before it got to that open profit level, it only saw -4 pips in DD!.

However, since then, it has dropped way back, and at one point actually went -18 pips dd, and is now back at about 60 pips open profit. So watching it go instantly to 125 pips, just to slowly drain and go negative isn't all that great. I have tried to understand the trailing stop options in v8 but just having a hard time.

I am leaving this basket open just to see if it EVER closes per the ea, hopefully gaining some knowledge of what the 'breakdown from extreme' means.

If anyone fully understands these settings, maybe you could show me the exact inputs in order to set, say, 'when 10% profit is achieved, trail 5%' ?

Thanks, glad to find a thread I can actually follow for this ea :)

Simply switch back to 7.0 or even better 6.6. Trailing is not very reponsive in 8.0 as crushmy mentioned. Code was changed in 8.0 for trailing as well as many other things.

    Cheers

  11. If you want to see best results stick with what is already time tested. Start with version 6.6 on D1 timeframe and risking 0.50 to 1% to make 1% per trade. H1 and H4 TFs do not work as well as D1 even though you may see days that H4 outperforms D1 but long term D1 outperforms H4. Version 7 is reasonable but not as good as v 6.6. V8.0 is hard to tell.. its logic has been trimmed down from 7.0 so it will take some time to ascertain if it will hold its head up.

    Good luck

  12. i think i prefer 700 to 800. the logic seems to be stripped down in the new version; not sure why that was done.

I absolutely agree. Some of the vital entry conditions as well as exits and trailing conditions were simply taken out. I wonder myself why the developer decided to do this. Maybe it was based on the feedback from the users but following the alpari thread I did not see such findings/recommendations. I think it is safest to stick with stable version 7.

    Cheers

  13. "Due multi time framing this EA making backtest with EA is very hard". Hmmm.. he must be using his private, never released to the public version of MT4 that does not do effective multiple time frame backtesting!! Large stoploss, small profits.. few losses in a row and this EA eats the account. Terrible money management..

    Cheers
