  1. Re: [REQ] Swissy Accu-Scalper Robot

I didn't backtest, simply looked at the decompiled code and compared to the MDPro_bbr versions posted in various places around here.

I'm no coder, but it was easy to eyeball. Basically, they locked down the EA to trade MDPro logic 3 (EURCHF), blanked the other logics, and removed some code.

  2. Re: caspian EA

Yes, I have best results with UsdCad and UsdJpy for Caspian_EurChf

JUINERTY2 - Thanks for you contributions on this one!

A couple of quick questions though. Other than using 1800-2145 GMT and the other code modifications you mentioned in the DRAGONPIPS thread, did you make any other changes to the default parameters when using Caspian.CHF to trade USDCAD and USDJPY?

Also, is everyone using the M5 or M15 timeframe. Seems like some of each out here.

    Just curious.

  3. Re: donchian scalper

I just started a JadeFX demo for Donchian Scalper using the "_reverse" and "_noreverse" set files recommended in another forum. Link to myfxbook performance found below:

    http://www.myfxbook.com/members/Chip4Pips/jadefx-demo-donchian-scalper/3892

Only modification to the set files I made was to adjust two variables for the different minimum lotsize (0.1) at JadeFX.

We'll see how it goes. Using these two sets together looks like it generates pretty good results. We'll see....

  4. Re: FXPRO

    Received this notice today:

    Dear Client

As part of our commitment at FxPro to being transparent and supportive of our clients, and making sure you are informed of any important business developments, we are now writing to all of you with an update about a strategic business decision we have made about the provision of services.

Since the launch of our business, FxPro has developed good business with clients across the globe, in over 120 countries. We are proud of this achievement, as we are in the ability to serve you in 10 languages, with platforms that operate in 17 more besides, and a Customer Support team that cares about delivering quality of service to each and every one of you.

For some time now we have recognised that the majority of you, our clients, are resident across the European Union countries and our emerging markets. Our growth in these particular markets has become one of our core strengths. We have therefore decided to focus our business solely within these geographies and clients who reside within them.

According to our records, you have been identified as being a resident of the United States of America and for all of our clients who are currently residing in the US, we recognise the importance of this decision to you and we apologise for any inconvenience this development may cause you. However, in order to make every effort to treat all clients fairly during this decision and to reduce any impact on your trading activity we wish to give you a full three-month notice period prior to implementation, therefore allowing you sufficient time to wind down your trading activity, and manage your portfolios successfully.

    Procedure for managing existing Accounts:

This applies to all Trading Accounts which belong to US Resident Clients

At the closing of the day of the 25th January 2010 (00:00 Server Time) all affected Trading Accounts are expected to have NO Open Positions. At the same time ALL Pending Orders will be cancelled, and All Open Positions will be automatically closed at that time at the last available price.

After the 25th January 2010, the status of these Trading Accounts will be set to “Read Only” in the MT4 Trading Platform, meaning that NO Trading activity can be performed, but fully accessible for reference and historical analysis. On January 26th 2010, all remaining funds in the accounts will be refunded to the original source.

If you have received this communication in error and are not a U.S. resident we strongly urge you to contact our Backoffice department, [email protected] who will guide and assist you accordingly.

Following this notice, we will subsequently send out reminder notices by email to US resident FxPro traders only, two months’ prior and one month prior to 25 January 2010.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update.

    Vincent Lee

    Head of Customer Support

  5. I have been taking a look at the StarFX Trader/Electron EURUSD EA and live trading results show that the probability of a losing trade skyrockets if a position remains open longer than 15 hours.

Is it possible to code a time stop feature into the EA, so that each trade opened will be closed XX hours (in this case 15) after it was opened, if it has not already been closed?

  6. Re: Forex-AI Autotrader (sharing)

Since v4.0 allows trading of pairs other than EURUSD, has anyone tested pairs? The EA's author mentions using gold, crude, and AUDUSD to trade the EURUSD.

I am curious to see if this tool can successfully identify deviations from correlation for EURUSD and USDCHF or AUDUSD and NZDUSD, and the like.

Unless someone else has played with this already, I guess I'll add that to my list of things to do....

  7. Re: FXPRO

FxPro is no longer accepting new U.S.-based clients and existing clients will eventually be winding down operations with them per the chat transcript posted below from a few minutes ago:

info: Thank you for contacting FxPro Live-support. The next available operator will be assigned to you.

info: You are now chatting with 'Lorraine', May i have your FxPro account number please?

    you: xxxxxx

Lorraine: Hello, How may I assist you?

you: I read on a message board that FxPro is no longer accepting US clients. If true, how is this going to impact existing relationships?

Lorraine: The Company has decided to concentrate on the EU and emerging markets where it has a niche. In light of this strategic decision, the Company is not accepting new clients that reside in the US. Existing clients residing in the US will be given sufficient time to manage their positions and portfolios, and further notice will be provided to them soon.

    you: Thanks for the clarification.

    Lorraine: You're welcome

  8. Re: Req. Hedge fund strategy EA

This is a S-C-A-M, SCAM in capital letters.

Decompiled it and the EA is clearly bbrain's MegaDroidPro_bbr_v07, with a few modifications to the trading times based on research from these forums. At least they took the time to change the name to "Wall Street EA" from "MegaDroid", excellent coders that they are.

PM me if you want to see the info.

  9. Re: Megadroid Pro

The only thing special about my MDP settings is that I have maximum slippage set to 3 and maximum spread also set to 3.

It seems that those people who have slippage or spread set to 4 or more are getting the trades, but, they get more losing trades also. I am curious what your slippage and spread settings are?

My settings are slippage set to 3 and the spread is set to 0 or the spread default setting. Obviously my slippage via ECN execution was much more than 3 last night, so I'm not sure this setting means much of anything under STP trading conditions.

  10. Re: Megadroid Pro

Don't jadefx have a "Or Best Entry" setup where it doesn't requote but instead gives you the "best price" closest to what you try to enter at? I was put off by that.

Absolutely correct. Your order goes out as a market order and is filled at the best price available.

This is the first time I have had the slippage at JadeFX nail me; prior to this it has cut a little bit both ways. Interesting too that the trade did not show up in either my journal or my experts log?!? Hmmmm.... The only place to find the trade details was the MT4 history window pane itself.

I'm trying to figure out if I would have gotten the same fill at TheCollectiveFX, which has a similar setup but recently switched liquidity providers and is opening again to new clients for a short period of time. Was anyone running MDPro live at TheCollectiveFX yesterday?

  11. Re: Megadroid Pro

    Demo trade details:

    09/14/2009 21:59:52 Sell Opened 1.65806

    09/14/2009 22:08:48 Buy Closed 1.65703

    Live trade details:

    09/14/2009 21:59:52 Market Sell Opened

    09/14/2009 21:59:59 Sell Filled 1.65718

    09/15/2009 07:03 Buy Closed 1.66488

Basically, huge 9 pip slippage on entry doomed this trade for me. No attempt by the EA to close; difference between the way trades are filled (live ECN vs. demo) is why I took the hit. No issues with the EA or with the data feed. Bottom line - I should have caught the discrepancy and exited manually.... You snooze, you lose.

  13. Re: Megadroid Pro

Sorry I realised after this...I meant USDCHF. I use Multi for this pair over Pro.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought that might have been what you meant, but wanted to follow up. The good results would've been a first on this forum USDCAD with MD Multi so you piqued my curiousity. MD Multi seems to work decently on the USDJPY pair, as well, but you've gotta watch the news and shut it off for sure on high volume days.
