  1. Re: Forex Shocker

Shocker 2 has been a very reliable performer for me on live accounts, but I only use it on its two best pairs: USDCHF and EURUSD. It is by far the best USDCHF scalper that I have in my stable and the improved exit logic from version 1.1 has cut down on the number of S/L. The other pairs such as GBPUSD and USDCAD should be ignored, as they are not consistent winners. I also do not trade this on the EUR crosses, as the spreads in the Asian session have made those pairs untradable. Stick with what works and you'll be happy.

Update - Got trades closed at market open on Sunday night, but only two closed from my terminal before I was taken "Off quotes" for over 30 minutes. Had to have Jade support close the trade for me directly. Not acceptable....

Closed my account, funds received by wire, and have moved on.

Another day with a massive outage of service blamed on the "liquidity provider", as the quotes froze on Friday afternoon at 12:46 EST in the USA. As soon as I can get my trades closed, I'm done with these guys. Not ready for prime time....

If you are going to hold positions overnight, MB Trading is not good. They charge rollover on both sides of the transaction and the rollover rates are about twice as high as you would see elsewhere. The commissions are OK, but the rollover hurts. I have traded with them prior to them getting MT4 and I will not trade with them going forward. There are better ECN/STP brokers.

  5. Re: Forex Shoker

By 10 pips, I mean 10 pips equivalent to 4-digit broker, or 100 on five digit. So, that much slippage was definitely a "shocker" so to speak!

JadeFX is an ECN; data feed is unfiltered so can be very jumpy. Good for scalping (as long as super bad slippage doesn't get you), but I will not use for position trading. GoMarkets is my first STP, so still difficult to compare Shoker performance between the two.

  6. Re: Forex Shoker

Regarding JadeFX and slippage, it definitely does happen. I typically run a demo platform side-by-side with my live platform in order to check fill quality. A few weeks ago prior to the upgrade, I had a Forex Shoker 1.1 USDCHF trade that executed on the demo platform, took 4 pip profit, and closed the trade. On the live platform it suffered 10 pips of slippage on entry, causing the trade not to hit T/P, eventually causing trade to hit S/L. Of course, I was away from the screen at the gym while this was going on. Grrr.... Anyhow, the most disturbing thing about the whole issue was that the record of the trade was erased from the journal in my MT4 terminal. Usually slippage is minimal, but I wanted to lay out what you could see in a bad case.

The reason I opened up the GoMarkets account was in order to run side-by-side with JadeFX in order to evaluate their STP execution versus JadeFX ECN and how it impacts my overall cost of trading and profitability. Just started with them in January so nothing to report yet.

And there is no minimum monthly volume for JadeFX, as they now charge a commission. Rollovers are bad though, if you are going to swing trade/trend follow and hold positions overnight or for a few days. They are not as bad as MB Trading, but they are not good, which was another reason to step back and try to evaluate which brokers is best to run my scalpers from a total cost perspective.

Has anyone ever gotten an update on the NN numbers in Shocker.

I don't know what they are for, or if they are even important.

NN is embedded is the code/dll in version 2. Version 1.1 was never changed or updated from the settings in the original manual.

I have also been running EURUSD and USDCHF live at both JadeFX and GoMarkets with good results.

  8. Re: [ REQ ] The@ilBiz EA

I actually used the subscription version live for two months back in the late-Summer/early-Autumn timeframe and it was uncanny how the losses mounted. The EAs logic seemed true to the original Campbell methodolgy, but the character of the market changed. Campbell himself has changed the timeframe and trading hours he is focusing on using these tools multiple times now. IF you are going to run with this, it is imperative to check the@ilBiz website every day around the London open in order to see if JC has changed any parameters.

My advice to you is simple: Don't bother with this one. Your time is better spent on other EAs available in this forum.

  9. Re: Megadroid Pro

Now they are selling other EAs such as The Swissy Accu-Scalper Robot.

Swissy Accu-Scalper actually is MDPro EURCHF, with the EA stripped of the ability to trade the other pairs.

Using this marketing template, I'm sure at some point in the future they'll roll out the USDCAD scalper or the USDCHF scalper as a "bonus" for some other affiliate deal....

    Too funny.
