I have quit scalping on EURCHF and EURGBP... I think you used to be able to scalp on those pairs, but the market is entirely different now. Even those nice 10 year backtests mean nothing on those pairs in the current conditions.

Had a big loss with MDPro recently, but it was my fault. I have put recovery mode on my pairs because MDPro with aggressive off is very accurate, so I can probably survive this.

 

My self-administrated VPS runs Windows XP and I never set it up to sync the correct time and date from an NTP server. After a while, I failed to notice the machine's time slowly slip out of sync to the point where it opened trades with an incorrect GMT offset. End result? Some big losses.

 

Since then, I have ensured that it sync the correct time and date from a time server.

The way XP does this is quite lame however, as it doesn't maintain a connection to the time server. It only resyncs once a day... BUT, it is better than nothing.

 

Everyone can hopefully learn from my mistake, and ensure that your live account system sync with a time server, rather than just have a manually set time & date.

I am new to this forum and forex.

I have a Ea I have been trying to piece together. It works on moving averages. I added an equity stop - when equity is $1 ahead it closes all positions. It really isn't working right. I need to somehow get an increment between the orders. The orders are to close together. Is there anyone that likes to work on code here? I think it is kind of old fashioned and nothing fancy about it but it works pretty good with one position and will hedge if I can get the orders far enough apart.

Anybody willing to take a look at it?

It's plainly obvious that the Megadroid pro thread is now dead or dying !

Thanks for all the great contributions from truly masterful coders relating to the coding of this truly great EA !

 

Birt , Don, bbrain & Rio just to name afew ! Thanks so much for all your efforts.

 

This EA is the best scalper of the lot at the moment especially considering that it can be traded on many more than the four original supported pairs it was originally designed for.

 

EA Kain is merely a clone of Megadroid pro and Fapturbo is an inferior product cos it's not as selective or prudent regarding its trades.

 

I have been trading live with MD Pro for the past three weeks and it has taken my account from $ 9100 to $9673 over a period of three weeks trading 0.25 to 0.3 lots on 4 to 6 pairs daily.

Agressive off and recovery mode off also. I feel that these two arent really necessay because we have the opportunity now to trade on so many currency pairs each day. Your account will profit more slowly but SURELY and securely long term.

 

I watch the High Impact News announcements daily and i will only trade a currency pair if the High Impact News announcement relating to any pair is not less than 10 hours previous to 19.00 GMT. I trade exclusively between GMT 19.00 to GNT 23.00 except for JPY crosses which are GMT 19.00 to GMT 22.00.

 

 

For example if the news on either two of any pairs is on or after GMT 9.00 i won't trade that pair for the day. The fx360 website is my reference.

 

 

I have found that this method of news filtering has helped me effectively to avoid hitting Stop Losses unnecessarily due to market volatility.

I'm using Megadroid Pro V 1.01ee with dll.

 

I have found this version to be extremely stable and no crashes on my platform. My broker is Go Markets in Australia.

 

Benefits are very low variable spreads on all pairs. No Dealing Desk execution , No EA restrictions , STP currenex price feed , No requotes at all ! Overall

Is anyone else out there still using Megadroid pro successfully for Live Trading ?

 

I for one will not be changing this EA or my strategy for a long time. Hopefully my Broker will stay honest & true and not cheat or manipulate the spreads.

 

Trading from the 1st March until 11th March i have added $519 dollars to my account. That's less than two weeks trading. Megadroid pro has opened 26 trades losing only 1 trade. Profit Trade % of 96.1

Its hard to say which is the best performing. I think at this stage it's EURUSD & GBPUSD. The two have collected the most pips for me at this stage. The least performing pair has been EURCHF due to lack of trades.

 

The Logic settings for the non standard pairs are GBPUSD is Logic 4 , USDJPY is Logic 4 , USDCAD is Logic 2, EURJPY is Logic 1 , GBPCHF is Logic 4.

 

Use the news filter method as described above for even greater accuracy and consistency in your trades. I usually try trade six pairs daily depending on News announcements.

Thanks Theozaki, greatly appreciated. I am researching the procedures for optimization, and hope to fine tune this EA. I also have been having good results with Shocker 2.0, particularly on IamFX with their lower spreads. Interestingly, MD Pro generally does not do as well on IamFx as with FXDD. I think that the raw spreads sometimes fake MD into taking trades that are a little more risky than with FXDD.

No ! Not always

 

I follow the economic calender on the fx360 website. I know one week in advance which currency pairs will have high impact news including the exact time in GMT the news is released.

 

All i do is make sure that there is at least a 10 hour buffer between news release time and start trading time on Megadroid pro. My hours are strictly between GMT 19 to GMT 23 except for JPY crosses which i close 1 hour earlier at GMT 22 because economic news releases usually are around 23.50 for Asia market opening. Sometimes i can start trades from GMT 20 to GMT 23 instead to allow myself that 10 hour buffer on certain pairs if for example news release happens at GMT 9.30

 

This week is a heavy news release for USD pairs (FOMC) week so for example i'm not trading any USD pairs on Wed, Thurs & Friday morning my local time. But last week it was much more quite and i traded USD pairs almost each day. So it depends ....

 

I hope this makes it clear on how to apply this news filtering method towards your trading !

This version of MegaDroidPro has

 

1. Disabled Authentication

You can write any ReceiptCode or leave the field empty.

The .dll doesn't prevent buy & sell orders anymore if authentication fails.

No annoying "Not Authenticated" message is showing up.

It Does NOT calling home.

 

2. Applicable on any pairs

Not just EUR/USD, EUR/CHF, EUR/GBP and USD/CHF can be traded, but any pairs.

The pairs are traded by separate logics. The officially supported pairs are

traded by their own logics by default, but this CAN BE changed.

 

If you're start MegaDroidPro on an officially unsupported pair,

you have to choose by which logic should that pair be traded.

For this, there is a Logic variable among the settings.

 

The Logic variable can be set to EIGHT values:

1 - trade by the EUR/USD logic on an unsupported pair

2 - trade by the EUR/CHF logic on an unsupported pair

3 - trade by the EUR/GBP logic on an unsupported pair

4 - trade by the USD/CHF logic on an unsupported pair

 

11 - FORCED trade by the EUR/USD logic on an other DEFAULT pair

22 - FORCED trade by the EUR/CHF logic on an other DEFAULT pair

33 - FORCED trade by the EUR/GBP logic on an other DEFAULT pair

44 - FORCED trade by the USD/CHF logic on an other DEFAULT pair

 

The default is 1 (EUR/USD logic).

 

3. Spread limit can be freely changed

Some broker has higher night spreads at some pairs, therefore MegaDroid

often sent out the message: "Safe spread limit exceeded"

Therefore there is a new variable called MaxSpread.

If MaxSpread set to 0 (zero), then MegaDroid's default built-in

spread limits are used.

If MaxSpread set to other number, then that number will be used as the new

"Safe spread limit". If you're on 5 digit broker, then multiply it by 10!

 

You can set MaxSpread to -1 (minus one). This tells MegaDroidPro to set

the maximum allowed spread to the currency's actual highest spread.

This way you don't have to guess what is the correct value. This setting is

actually disabling the spread limit protection! (See Warning!)

 

Example: you want to trade GBP/JPY, but its spread is 7 / 10 (day/night).

Set MaxSpread to 10 (night spread) if you're on 4 digit broker.

Set MaxSpread to 100 if you're on 5 digit broker!

Set MaxSpread to -1 and spread limit protection will be disabled.

 

4. Trading times can be overridden

You can set freely MegaDroidPro's trading times. For this there are eight

variables. Four for Strategy 1 and four for Strategy 2. You can set

start hours and end hours only (no minutes).

 

5. Risk sharing among running instances can be disabled

By default MegaDroidPro instances are sharing the risk between each other.

It means that if you're running more droids on different pairs, then your

risk will not be multiplied, but equally shared.

The only problem is that if one of the droids is winning and the rest is not

placing any trades, then your profit will be also fractional.

This default behavior can be switched off by the RiskSharingEnabled setting.

To try preventing crashes, please delete the old .dll file from the

experts\libraries directory, then MegaDroidPro.ex4 and .mq4 from the

experts directory.

Then please place the new .dll to experts\libraries directory and

place ONLY MegaDroidPro.mq4 to experts directory. So don't place the .mx4

to the experts directory. This way MetaTrader will compile the source code

to its taste and hopefully will not crash in the future.

The .mx4 file is just for reference, you don't need to place it anywhere.

Warning! MegaDroidPro is a scalping robot! If you set MaxSpread too high or

trade pairs with too high spreads, then it may lead to large drawdown or

even account blowup! Try to trade the pairs with the tightest spreads!

I'm a newbie to this forum and came to know while going thru ur post that there is a version of Megadroid Pro that can trade in all pairs and doesnot require a clickbank code.

 

I would like that have that MD Pro version that u are using.i hope u can help me in getting this

Either way is correct but i prefer to use 0 GMT instead of 24. The EA understands both numbers i believe !

 

Also notice that all brokers use 0 on their MT4 charts not 24, so use 0 instead just to be sure !

I am new to MEgadroid.

 

Just wondeirng if someone can help me out.. i know theres alot of info here, but 190 pages is a bit much to go through:)

 

a) I got a version MD PRo XE. It seems to have Trade Friday, Trade Sunday etc..

What does "Override Trade Time mean?"

 

b) I see there are Stop loss settings. Are these used or does MD PRo automatically determine these anyway?

 

c) I see another section called Advanced Troid Tactics. I dont remember installing ADT.. so does that mean the version I have has it built it? Is it safe to turn on Trade in GMT x .. for all GMT zones?

 

d) Are there any other settings I need to touch to start out with or can I just leave as default?

 

e) Is MD PRo XE 1.2 the latest version of MD PRo?
