StartHour and StartMin

The optimum time for the system to trade GBP/USD is 3:05am CET (GMT+1). This

time will statistically produce the best performance from the EA.

If your broker uses GMT+1, then there will be no need to alter the parameter. If not,

then you will need to adjust the StartHour parameter to your broker’s time.

In this case, it is recommended that you run the EA through the strategy tester to

check that you have set the parameter correctly.

I don't really get this explanation. For example, Alpari UK is now at GMT+2. Should I set the start time to 2:05 or 4:05? I'd run the strategy tester but a simple explanation in the instructions would make it a lot easier as Alpari has just changed last week so its hard to get any decent data...

Found something that may help:

Readers-

 

I am starting to suspect that there is a programming error in MegaDroid related to the AutoGmtOffset feature. Based on my own programming experience, I am starting to thing that there is an error passing the correct value of the GmtOffset on to some parameter calculation - which would subsequently mess up entry calculations.

 

My advice is this. Start with AutoGmtOffset=true and notice what the value is. Then, go back into your settings, and manually enter the value into the “GmtOffset” settings, and also change “AutoGmtOffset=false”. If we still aren’t getting trades then the developers might have some explaining to do.

 

MegaDroid doesn’t trade that much, so it isn’t a big deal that it is NOT trading, the problem is that some people are getting trades and others are not - which makes it confusing for us to determine what the true behavior of the EA ought to be.

Well the AutoGMT thing is actually being done inside the .dll file.. They pass the routine to the dll.. Im not much on hex so dont understand it (and I dont have a dll decompiler).. But, I have also seen several people say that the auto thing doesnt work at all and you should leave it in manual mode, with your setting manually entered..

So the code is not as good as it looks if it can't even get these kind of things right...but this may solve the issue I hope.

Has this traded for anyone yet? I have friends with the original and there's has not traded, nor has mine (crack from here, screen says authenticated and waiting to trade), even though the site is showing a trade or two on April 2nd. Some are saying that it doesn't work at 5 digit brokers, I'm running it at Nordmarkets MT4 demo 4 digits but nothing...can any coders take a look at the code and see what might be wrong here?

Yes...if you read the info "Proof.html" with it its very simple. It finds a middle line based on past extreme high and low, buys on the sth side and sells on the nth side. simple grid-trading approach that works well. this EA is one of the few that actually works, just be prepared for drawdown (see 2008 backtest for example)

Artemis does look good but all I need is something simple. I know its out there somewhere...

I'm sure I have seen one posted on this great forum but no matter how hard I search I can't find it...

I would like an indicator or EA that works like this:

1. Open Buy/Sell as usual with no TP or SL

2. Drag indicator/EA that sets TP and SL (predefined preferably)

3. It sets TP and SL which can then be dragged by mouse

To save all the back and forth clicking that it takes now to set TP & SL - this is for a scalping technique I use, need something that works quick, only one trade at a time is fine.

Can someone here help me? Your sharing is appreciated.

I've tested so many bots from this forum (thanks bro's :P ) and not one has backtested positively bar robominer and fapturbo (which I bought). Hopefully this bots fantastic yet dubious history can be replicated in our own backtests and then we can trust the forward tests to be based on something for a change. This is now on sale but I don't have funds for it; hope it can be shared and we can find out for ourselves.

The future seeing sales pitch is cheesy, but if its good enough to pick a trend when its formed and before it ends and grab 10 pips in the trend direction enough times it might be good enough to actually make money for a change unlike every other bot out there I've seen and toyed with and tried to optimize...and how many have been shared on this site?

Gotta have hope, otherwise what we're doing here on the EA finding mission is a joke.

easy guys...it wasn't an attack, i was just asking to keep opinions so and facts forefront.

we could look at anything and say "bah, it's a scam". it's expensive so its a scam; or maybe like fapturbo, only $99 it must be a scam, whatever. but in the end what did we learn?

but then i'm coming from a mindset where i don't believe the hype but i like testing EA's and manual systems and expanding my forex trading knowledge; whereas maybe other people on here might be looking for that holy grail and need you to warn them so thank you for that and i'm sorry to only see my side.

i like this forum as people share a lot of great stuff freely from their hearts...but then the threads die once the indicator or EA has been shared. what i would like to see more is people then sharing feedback from experience with these indicators and EA's and systems and helping educate others who haven't followed the path that far -

"don't go that way, it's a dead end"

"have a look down there, the apples are tasty and abundant"

"go that way but watch out for the bear"

that kind of thing.

scalping strategies like this northern lights strategy appears to be some people use remarkably effectively but they're not right for everyone as they're pretty intensive. recently i have been using cobraforex's THV system from the forex factory forum, a free system that is proving for me and a lot on there to be very effective. i just wondered if anyone has this system so i could compare signals between the two and hopefully offer feedback as to whether i did well or found it too complicated or just lost pips or what - and hey if it was a winner, what then?

oh well, it probably is a scam anyway so lets not worry about it. sorry to offend :peace:

Who cares? This is what we do (or should be doing) here - share things that people are either selling or that we've picked up along the way, test them in our private community and hopefully tell others what we learnt. Be they EA's or manual systems - collective effort and sharing of results is the only way to finding methods that lead to financial freedom. Lemon45 & pultimo, please leave comments like this till after you have done groundwork and/or homework and it can be considered result from experience not opinion.
