you can use the last batch of candles in that area.....so if the pair is hitting lows that haven't been hit in months then use candles from the last time price was there, so in this case sequentialb yes use Sept....

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate you taking the time out to share your method with everyone in this forum.

Thanks, but I can't download it from Ziddu as it requires I disable my popup blocker and I'm not willing to risk doing that...

I found it elsewhere and have created a link for anyone interested.

here's some KRAPP levels in action once again

http://i988.photobucket.com/albums/af5/kraven69/krapp.gif

if you follow this pic from 9:30 on the chart you'll see my entries today........to be honest i was playing around, as the KRAPP levels have pretty accurate i have been buying and selling on retracements today with a very small lot size......at 9:30 i bought, this shot up (lucky) and i exited at another KRAPP level for +44....as soon as it bounced off KRAPP level and past top of previous candle i entered long again (exit next level for +13)...price came back down again eventualy it went past 5942 on retracement i bought again (exit next level at 5960 for +14).....since then i have enter and got -6, +15, ( not on chart +14, -6, -5)...and am currently sold at KRAPP level 5989 (87 with spread) sl 7pips....

i'd like people oppinions on refining getting in and out....e.g. an overbought/sold indi that will complement these levels......only buying bounces in up trend (above a certain MA's or indi)...............I believe if we can filter certain entries then this could be a very profitable system of entries and exits with tight SL's

p.s. the little purple lines in chart are where SL's are placed, approx 1pip below the break through

As I understand you correctly, it will be altogether 24 lines (4 lines per bar) .. a bit less then that, some lines will overlap, right?

Not really..........you will have (most of the time) 3 lines per bar (as close of last bar and open of new are the same...most the time) plus you ned to look at PAST bars OCHL within this area.......as huuu said the more times overlapping happens (bars OCHL in same area) the more powerfull.

I wrote OHLC indy, so it will add OHLC lines of previous day by default or you can change barBack to 1,2,3 etc .. or you can add one indy with barBack=1, another one with barBack=2, etc..

Great! What happens when you get a new day? Assuming you put three indicators for the last three days, do the lines shift, dropping the 4th day back and adding yesterday or do we do that manually?

I never uderstood why we just have it three days when Kraven says you can use lines as far back as you like as long as they come into play. The market tends to move to new price levels so that would usually keep the chart uncluttered even if we kept previous lines (for say a month) on there... ?

Hi altorono, thanks for coding and sharing your indi. A question though, when I put it on my chart, it is drawing only 1 horizontal line, not 4 lines. What am I doing wrong? Currently, of the 4 OHLC lines, it is only drawing the L(ow) line, and nothing for the O(pen), H(igh), or C(lose) lines.

It's really upto you how many days you do.......I do a few days above and below price, then look into the past to see if there's any significant others, simply because if we get a bigger then average daily move I'm got lines in ready

. . .

Joeytrader, switch to daily chart and then check if it's only one line, I guess not.

I try different timeframes, including daily chart. For some reasons, I can get at most 3 lines, but not all 4 lines at any one time. Now I cannot seem to show the Close price line. If I hover my cursor arrow over the area where the Close line should be, it does return a small data box indicating there is an "invisible" Close line there.

I will play with it some more, it is probably something simple or stupid on my side, like line having same color as background color, or forgetting to have a color for that line.

Guys, fixed line shifting.

Pardy, there is limitation in MT4 so I can use only 4 buffers, so that's reason why I can't draw more lines in one indicator. Just add same indy on chart and change barBack parametar, as Kraven said sometimes can be barBack=7 or 25.

Guedesjunior25, but with indy you sent me a link you can't see line from 4 days ago .. on 5 min chart, you can see value but not the actual line. Correct me if I am wrong. I am not experienced mql programmer (I am better web designer then mql programmer or even trader :)) so if someone can add some features in my indicator, please do so. Edited by altoronto
