suzanna
hey Tomi, it's a combination of most of the variations i had worked on, viz: 2 instances of CableMuruku24H_teknomage, one with my best preset#3 and the other with default Muruku's setting 1 instance of CableMuruku24H_teknomage_FFCal with default settings 1 instance of Cable Run v3 with optimized setting for FXopen And the latest additions were two instances of CableMurukuv5_teknomage with the settings from arconite and newbee, based on the experiences they reported here Take a look at the positive chaos on my terminal :) http://yfrog.com/05crunsnapshotj Hi Teknomage, can you please share your CR optimized for FXOpen settings please? Many thanks in advance!

indothong
Big THANK YOU to tomislav, teknomage, muruku, expat1967 and those who contribute to the MOD, i have read through all the posts and can see how hard you guys trying to help us (newbie), btwn can someone guide me to say "thanks"? I am totally new to forex, do few reading but never trade before, so here is my experience. I am at time zone GMT+8 ,using Meta Trader - Forex Meta as platform I have downloaded CMv5_teknomage_FFcal and implementing it to the GBP/USD 1H chart here is some my questions/problems that i experienced 1. http://cloud.forexfactory.com/ffcal_week_this.xml is no longer working , have to change it to http://cdn.forexfactory.com/ffcal_week_this.xml 2. I run the bot last friday but no trading at all 3. I backtest the data from 20110101, no trading record at all after backtest about 12days, did i miss out any setting for backtest and demo as well? 4.i can see you guys can backtest very fast for the past 10years result, may i know which platform you are using? i m using Forex Meta and one day can only backtest about 13days historical data, so i am very curious what other option that can boost the backtest performance? 5. forumate keep saying that no EA is perfect, i have 2 EA at the moment, Megadroid and cable run, megadroid version 1 fail at my back test(took about 2 weeks times to run year by year), thus i do not test the Megadroid 2. so is there any other good EA worth to try 24/7? I will do the easy bit. You have to make more posts. Then at the bottom of the post there will be 'Thanks' and two other symbols. One for a complaint against the post the other for adding to the poster's rep. Just be patient...or answer every post to increase your score. In the meantime I know nothing of this method so will try to follow. Edited April 2, 2011 by Freddie
MUA
Hi guys, all the Cable Runs in this thread are "faulty" or of a "sub standard" nature (in my opinion). The answer is right in front of your eyes on a post called Indo Run. Indo Run does everything Cable Run does (plus much more) and in a technically proficient manner :| The catch is... you have to learn how to use it #:-SSometimes you have to go back to the beginning to move ahead. The "goodbye post" finally... Adios "Amigos" :P CAN U PLEASE EXPLAINE WHAT YOU MEAN BY "you have to know HOW TO USE INDO RUN"? Can you explain a little bit for me. I am newbie here. thanks

swordfish
I don't know about you. My Cable Run has been consistently making money for me. Here is how I do it. I trade 0.1 lot for every $5000 in my account. Trading hours are GMT 21-7 I increase step by +3 pips for subsequent pending orders: 17 (initial), 20, 23, 26,... I set incLot to 0.02 lot - a very mild Martingale I increase profit tartget by +3 pips: so it will be 15, 18, 21, 24..when the number of open orders increases If by GMT7 there are open orders (with floating loss obviously), the step for further pending orders is changed to 30 pips until all orders are closed out (with a profit). No more pending orders after that. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the thread for Cable Run, not Indorun. So, I am sharing my trading experience in Cable Run 2.0 since I started in August 2010. Keep it simple. No indicators. I tried Indorun and did not like it. (If you are using IndoRun, do yourself a favor, trade the Asian session GMT21-7 only.) All my parameters are manually adjustable on the fly. The most important one is the "step". For the past 3 days influenced by ECB rate increase, I set my initial step at 30. My drawdown was very tolerable. The payoff was great due to incremental increase in profit target. The next important parameter is to continue pending orders after GMT8 IF you still have open orders, otherwise, it takes a long time to recover. This is probably pretty easy to program into a modified Cable Run by an experienced programmer. I would still change a couple of parameters on the fly by looking at the market conditions. Good luck! swordfish
This is the ideal price pattern for Cable Run - price is inside of the No-Trade-Zone most of the time. Plot 50EMA high+50 EMA low and 15 EMA close in M15 (or M5). If you follow the Black Dog system, you know what I am talking about. This enclosed area is called "no-trade-zone". http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t269/julianblo/CableRun_04Apr081655.gif When I see the following chart to form (price outside of the no-trade zone), I manually adjust my parameters (increasing steps) or stay out. The momentum in either direction will be too strong for Cabe Run to trade without draw downs. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t269/julianblo/CableRun_03Apr081655.gif More examples: http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t269/julianblo/CableRun_02Apr081655.gif http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t269/julianblo/CableRun_01Apr081654.gif If you didn't have pending orders after the Asian session, you would not be able to close out your trades as shown in the chart. All examples were using 17-pip fixed step. Edited April 9, 2011 by swordfish tomislav and San4x

swordfish
iliotest, I believe the download link for the original Cable Run II is still working (post #66). Since then people started all kinds of modifications. Some try to make it work for day sessions. Some added tons of indicators to make it trade better. I don't blame you for being confused by all the different versions. I believe some are making money from those versions and some got their accounts blown away. I don't see people posting follow-ups. So, I am sharing my findings from trading live accounts (I am managing 3 accounts). Keep in mind that even with fixed step 17, historically, you will not blow your account, including those days I called them "massacres", if you keep the proper ratio of lot size and account size (0.1 lot for $5,000). My manual manipulations are meant to reduce paper loss and give me a quicker recovery. Any modification can survive through February 2009 will be a good one. ⭐ musketeer, San4x, romanraymond and 2 others
dingueling
Here's the most recent Cable Run V4. It uses unfiltered Cable Run strategy as mentioned above... :| http://www.4shared.com/file/ZV_F7-RM/cable_run_v4.html And here's the newest version of the Highly Profitable (and potentially dangerous) Cable Muruku V5 Teknomage... newest version 2.0... my personal favourite. This one now has an added order recognition feature so it will keep adding pending orders if the time filter, session filter or news filter kicks in thus it'll "properly complete" every trade. Latest FFCal Indicator included. GBPUSD 1 HR time frame however the 15 min time frame works good too... http://www.4shared.com/file/F-QgQPvs/Cable_Muruku_V5_Teknomage_20.html :D http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/4922/cablerunv5teknomage.gif Thank you very much for sharing. tomislav

swordfish
Swordfish, thanks for sharing your findings and results here! :) Which version are you personally running on your live accounts? Cheers, San. San4x, I am using Cable Run 2 with manual manipunations (totally not ideal). In order to change parameters on the fly, I need to disable EA, cancel pending orders, change step and restart EA. Just to recap my findings, 1) trade only the Asian hours, 2) change your step when you see fit, and 3) extend trading hours to allow more pending orders if you have open orders in floating loss during the Asian session (UK tends to wipe out some, if not all, of the movement in Asian session), and 4) apply a mild Martingale if you have a sufficient account size. Below is the stat of an account I recently added to my managed porfolio. It only trades Cable Run II in semi-manual mode (now called Night Vision). http://www.myfxbook.com/members/swordfish/night-vision/101363 For my manual manipulations, I used this script a lot: http://www.multiupload.com/BXRWDH66G6 Now you know all my secrets.
