linkrink
I guess why the price rebounded is because it was a resistence area (see yellow line) http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/8873/oc3810resistence.png

linkrink
Synergy: Is it because of DST? Because GMT 00:00 will make 01:00 for GMT+1? Edited August 3, 2010 by linkrink

linkrink
Yes, that's correct. But when i compare my GMT+1 settings with superfx, life for example for 28/07/2010, the timelines matches very closely. http://indo-investasi.com/showthread.php/7963-Strategy-that-could-become-millionaires?p=90886&viewfull=1#post90886 my setup for 28/07/2010 with 01:00-07:00 settings http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5051/oc28710.png Superfx setup on 28-07-2010 http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/8148/superfx28710.png Please let me know if i a missing something here? linkrink
Even pauli (in post #98) is suspecting that he may be wrong. so not sure if london time should be used. can somebody help? I am not sure but it should be ended at 8 am London time, as per post #98. post #98 Hey Freddie almost 'live' trading on here, very impressive. However why are you doing 6 am breakout when I thought we agreed it was 8 am BST or UK time.I may be wrong but thats how i understood it. chrisbenjy
Hey linkrink, The manual says 00:00 to 06:00 in IBFX broker time, I think they are GMT -1 (This would be 7:00 UK when it isn't daylight savings time). The UK is currently in BST due to daylight savings time, so that means the UK is in GMT +1. This means that for IBFX and all other GMT +1 brokers you have to +2 to the time. You are aiming to get 7:00 BST (8:00 GMT). Chris

But again, I just tried to align my timelines with the one in superfx's setups (if you see in my previous post #110 BTW Chris, i just searched internet for IBFX GMT settings, and it says that IBFX is GMT. See this document https://support.forexvps.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=pdfexport&kbarticleid=33 this also looks usefull, http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=42351 Edited August 3, 2010 by linkrink IBFX GMT settings
agent007uk
IBFX Broker time is GMT+0 (eg 08:00 Broker time is actually 09:00 London time, because London is now on BST) So 06:00 IBFX chart time is actually 07:00 London time.

Freddie
OK, I have my clock which is all computer run, I know that my local time is correct. I know London is two hours behind so 9, something as I am at 11 something. http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/freddieforII/Chan03085.jpg Only problem now is IBFX! There seems to be a lot of disagreement about its GMT+ value. I did hear + 3 somewhere. Pity we cannot get to the author of the .pdf I seem to have cut off the times, never mind I will say that it broke out nicely at 0600 UK
Freddie
The 0600 UK made 50 pips before reversing! Looks like we might be coming out the lower line. http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/freddieforII/Chan03086.jpg

The candle should have opened at 8:00 BST
chrisbenjy
Hey everyone, We all seem to have different trend lines and the way they are drawn is different. It didn't give different results yesterday, but it could today. This is how I drew mine. http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/9301/channelq.jpg Aren't you supposed to draw the trend line from the highest close to the second highest close, and from the lowest close to the second lowest close like I have on my image shown by the arrows? Chris.
linkrink
I believe trendlines for a line chart differs from trendlines on candlestick charts due to obvious reason. Chris. Looks to me like you should take the high with the arrows and take it down to the high that comes from the low arrows. Even to two or three candles further, depends how you see the candle on the end of the grey block. The low from the arrows to six candles along. You will end up with a nice triangle and one candle of breakout up!
