One note of caution on using this indicator: While I am no expert and others can set me straight, a look at the code reveals that this indi peeks 4 bars (using defaults) into the future to do its calculations! So, if you want to base any trading system on this indi, make sure you give it a lot of real time testing and do not count on its performance on historical data. Depending on your definition of repainting you might not consider this repainting but nevertheless its polishing its results! Unfortunately, I find many commercial vendors do this so their historical charts look much better than it should even though when you are looking at real time charts no repainting occurs! Diesel 10 Posted April 3, 2011 Author Report Share Posted April 3, 2011 Hi Just confirmation of HMA`s useful properties. i have found HMA and 3c_JurX cross to be a very very good entry signal. If anyone knows an EA based on such a cross please post it. If not any coders out there willing to oblige? Kind regards EDIT: someone once said all the fancy indicators are variation of the more commonly used ones. This is certainly the case with3_Jurx. If you change HMA period to 17 or 18 (depending on the TF) the colour changes indication Up/down trend is exactly the same as 3c_Jurx. Therefore what I have said above is a fancy MA cross. However, I am now using DTOSC.mq4 (widely available momentum indicator) as an extra filter with 3c_jurx and HMA cross and the results are very encouraging thus far. Anyone knows of a better momentum indicator please post it here. Not necessarily better but StochasticRSI indi is faster than DTOSC, IMO. Of course it gives a few more false signals because of this, so your choice. I only trade the signals when it is in the OB/OS range and with the dominant trend so I prefer StochasticRSI.
