cc indicator is one of indicator I use to filter out the trade. It didn't come with FDM. Nothing special, but you can find it here.

Yes, I love this indicator. Even though, it can not be used alone to determined the trading direction, it DOES wonders for my trading. Every chart, I have this indicator.

 

Today's trade.. G/U + 40 pips.

This system does seem quite good on 15 mins. I've added the cc as well now. Will check it out tom, altho' with nfp, I might not trade.

8-9-2010 trade

 

What a day! My broker, Citifx bridge were down 4 times (2-3 hours at a time) last night.. :( It took 24 hrs to reach my target. If I were home, I would have closed it manually.. In any case, trend was a friend today. Target met!

Tomorrow is FOMC and may be a good setup will show tonight.

Hi fx4_ever, although I am not actively trading at the moment, for practice and training, I have been reading this thread, as well as learning and following the FDM daily to see where would I have entered, exited, etc.

 

If I may humbly ask, for the above trade, if you had been home, would you manually be exiting when there was a reversal signal (the green up arrow, with all the indicators showing green) and take a small loss? Or do you usually ride it out, to take either full profit target or full loss?

In US session, I was able to move my stop down a bit, so even if it hit SL, loss would have been very little. Almost over 12 hrs since open my trade and it didn't hit my SL, I figure uptrend on G/U must not be there. That was another deciding factor for leave it unattended.

Because if it were left to me, when I saw the reversal green arrow, with all other indicators turning green, and even the "cc" indicator has flipped against my trade, I would most likely had exited my short trade, and entered long .... and then loss out on BOTH trades, lol.

I am far from being a 'pro' trader, and am still learning. What you've said is true for me as well.

However, if you truly believe and have a faith in the system that you've adapt, you have to 'TRUST' that it will do the job for you. This is the hardest lesson to learn and I am still struggling with the concept. I think this is the major issues with everyone in this forum. Otherwise, we wouldn't look for what we consider to be the 'next best thing on the market'!

 

I've tried many systems and so far, FDM does work for me. But, I wouldn't put all my eggs in this system yet. Still it has its weakness. 1) this system really kill my PC. I've tried to omit some of the indicators and still bog down the resources. so, I only scan 1-2 currency at most

2) Signal comes bit late, so I have to really analyze if the signal that it is giving is the one that I should trade or not - As we know, system that gives early signals give out too many false signals and the system gives delay signals, we get on the train bit too late - trying to balance between the two is the 'art of trading', in my opinion.

I think too many variable to make this into successful EA. Just my opinion, unless coder is willing to keep working on optimization.

I had today a lossing trade: Long on GPBPUSD -30pips

After that trade FDM signaled a short trade but i didn´t take it i thought that it is a false signal because of the sideway market and the GBPUSD moved 88 pips down :-(

Yes, that is one of the reason that i couldn't scan more than 1 or 2 currencies at a time. When I am not in trading, I remove it from my chart. It is very heavy on CPU.
