  1. There is some know issues with the version of wave59 Pro2 that is in circulation now, even the original version has bugs, this is common with any new software. Apparently the developers of the software took some safe guards measure to protect the software, so the version that is being sold now is a faulty copy and needs to be repaired.
  2. So I compared JMA with TEMA and a few other low-lag MAs and indeed JMA seems superior to TEMA. TEMA is very fast but the overshooting is the problem. In contrast JMA, even with lower period, is smoother and more accurate. I almost thought it is repainting but there is no such thing in the source code (taken from here: http://www.forex-tsd.com/digital-filters/198-jurik.html).

On the picture the yellow line is JMA with length 4 and phase 50, and blue is TEMA with period 8:

So yeah, I will think about making JMA an alternative for TEMA in Ocean indis.

This was a great comparison you made, and i agree JMA would be a superior replacement instead of using TEMA, TEMA is only effective in conditions that are stable in the market but when the market becomes volatile JMA is a more superior indicator

Please remember what ever you develop remember that I am running Tradestation and not MT

  3. I was talking about JMA-based versions of Ocean's, i.e. to take Ocean indicators that use TEMA and replace it with JMA.

This would be an excellent idea UDC, I honestly believe that the Jurik indicatore are more superior than the Ocean indicators.

Mark Jurik originally developed his tools for military use during the cold war, they are highly sophisticated, very smooth curving and adaptable and probably very similar to the Ocean indicators, actually if you place the jurik indicators and the primary ocean indicators on your chart, you will be able to appreciate the sophistication of the Jurik tools. Now UDC if somehow you can combine the best of these two indicators then we will probably have in our hands one of the best indicators available for trading.

Other indicators that I would also highly recommend are The Hilbert sine waves are also excellent indicators, The Hilbert Sine Wave was developed by John Ehlers and first published in his book “Rocket Science for Traders”. The indicator uses an algorithm, originally applied to digital signal processing, that measures the amount of cyclical energy in a stream of data, for example, a stream of market prices also the Hurst channels

  4. The brief manual of ganntrader here:http://art.macd.cn/index/t-1320883.html

But I'm still cannot import data to program...somebody help...Thank! I really love dos version.

Try to be more specific about the problem you are having loading the date, maybe I will be able to help you

  5. Grain Trader: hi, well I will need some time to properly answer your question. As for Jurik, I am hearing that name for years but every time I get interested and visit his website the obsolete webdesign which looks like it was created back in 90s totally discourages me. There is even his photo that looks like it was taken not later than in 90s as well, if not earlier. And there is a quote that the cold war is over. Well, yeah, the cold war is over for almost 25 years now. I am not judging the content based on the envelope look, but it just seems to me those algorithms were created for stocks and commodities markets, not for the forex (there is a huge difference there). Could you point out some the "most popular" indicator of his so I could check it out deeply?

hi UDC, Yes you are right the jurik were probably designed for stocks and commodities but I was under the impression that they were also applicable to forex as well. I dont trade forex , I trade commodities but I have noticed that most members here are forex traders. This is the manual for the Jurik tools, they maybe just as good or better than the ocean indicators

  6. You don't have to download them, that's what I am telling you - you can watch them online! Check the videobam links I posted before.

Thank you, that's kind of you. You are very welcome. Well, you are right, I am a programmer for more than a quarter of century and I still enjoy it very much. The funny thing is I started this thread in hope that someone could access the TSD advanced elite forum and download the indis from there so I don't have to program it myself, and I ended up just doing exactly that :-) The bright side is that because of that I had to go closely through the videos and the manual several times to understand what I am programming so I learnt about it much more than I would otherwise. If I didn't know how NMC/NMC2/NMS and NMA/FastNMA are programmed I most probably wouldn't appreciate them as much as they truly deserve.

hi UDC I must commend you on the time and effort you have put into re programming these indicators for MT. I dont use MT I am still using TS. I bought these ocean indicators about 4 years ago and like you I have dedicated many hours learning and watching the videos. At first I was very excited about using them and I have actually used them to trade my own account, Gradually I lost interest but since you started this thread it has re-ignited my interest again.

What is your personal opinion of them, do you find them accurate and reliable? and how would you compare them to similar indicators like the Jurik tools

  7. Grain Trader: not sure which ones you mean. In some of earlier posts I described what Ocean indis are in the TradeStation package I shared here.

hi Udc, the original ocean software consisted of

The Ocean Classic indicators include the NMA and the Fast NMA, the NST, NDX and NXC bounded tools, the NMC and NMC2 zero-hit indicators and the NMS "structure" tool

these are the original ocean classic indicators, what I wanted to know is if you have

The Ocean Pro indicators include the Triple STX with Shadow stop indicators (and much more), the Component 4-line, the STX #7 cycle tool, and the indispensable BTX 2-line (directional) and BTX 1-line

which is basically the stx and the btx

If you have them for tradestation I would appreciate it

  8. Someone plzzz help me...

    hi sisirchow,

The reason you are not able to load your data is because you do not have the correct information in your attributes folder. The attributes folder is where TS looks for direction so that it can read your data, once you have the correct instructions in your attribute folder, then your charts will open.

This is what you need to do, type in the following statement below in notepad and save it as attributes, the next step is to locate your data folder where you keep your data and paste in the notepad attributes file inside .You also need to tell TS where you are located, that is your time zone. To do this, open notepad and type in

BMSE,23 and save it as custexch.txt

then go to windows>program files>tradestation folder>CAL folder and paste in your custexch.txt file

the number refers to your location, so for example if you reside in the USA, you would enter BMSE,18

Are you running TS9 in offline or live mode, are you able to get live data feed or EOD data

  9. Upload is finished, I posted all the links, but apparently the post is waiting to be approved by the moderator (too long post or too many links?) so you just need to wait a bit.

In the meantime, before the post gets approved, I uploaded the vids for direct watching also here:

    hi Udc

This is a great share, I have studied this course before and I am very familiar with it, if you need help or have any questions I can help you, do you have any of the other indicators for Tradestation, the original ones were, nma 1 an 2, nmc 1 and 2, nst and ndx. The latest indicators were discussed in the youtube videi

  10. Here are the screenshots of the mladen's Ocean Theory thread at the TSD advanced elite section:

okay I found the website, I thought the thread was on Indo, and you are right its a private section requiring a subscription to view the charts, apparently they have re programmed the Ocean indicators for the elite members

  11. hi UDC

I searched for advanced elite but was not able to find the original thread started by mladen, anyhow the ocean software are excellent, they were originally developed for Tradestation, the original indicators are the classic indicators which includes as you mention NMA, NMC, NMM and a few others, then there are a few advanced indicators developed later, ultimate stop and a few others. Jim Sloman originally sold the Delta Phenomena to Well WIlder, the developer of the RSI for 1 million dollars
