Since past price movement is fixed and cannot change, the information an indicator derives from it should also be fixed. For most trading indicators this is true, but some indicators redraw past analysis data as new data comes in. Called ‘Repainting the past’, this is usually considered a sign of a fraudulent indicator; one that tries to convince you it does a better job of creating trading signals than it actually does. True repainting is seen when past data points – those which are ostensibly based on price bars that have indeed closed – are seen to change. If your computer crashed due to new install of an indicator or trading system, you should remove the newly installed template, system and indicators and save them, then install a new version of MT4 and install the indicators in the new one. This works in most cases. You never uninstall MT4 since you will lose your templates, systems, indicators, etc. Best to start a new one and keep the old one. It depend on coding.If you use "open price" instead of "close price",you have a non-repainting indicator. Another idea is to combine various repainting indicator and if they all are the same, then we can place an order, that's the idea of genesis matrix indicator (see tsd forum).
