fx9548 Posted November 7, 2011 Report Share Posted November 7, 2011 Hi everybody, You're doing a great job. I also have a problem with dt6.I installed the software. I couldn't use the key generator. I found the .dll file that it was needed and I paste it in the DT/bin folder. When I run the DT6 it is asking me for en esignal. I 'm answering yes and then it gives me this message. "Access violation at address 00628F39 in module 'DT6.exe.' Read of address 00000000" Please advice what did I do wrong. After that the software is running but without data. It's just empty. Please advice what to do or how to run the key injector.... I'm running the key injector but it's doing nothing. It doesn't give me an error too. Please advice.... In expert-files I see both the exported file and the TXT info. If I open the TXT info I read: delimit=, skip=0 dt=1 ti=2 op=3 hi=4 lo=5 cl=6 vol=0 oi=0 dtformat=YYMMDD tiformat=HH_MM ext=.PRN cf=4 When I go to dt ascii setup in the TIME FORMAT I can choose only: HHMM HH:MM HH:MM:SS HHMMSS but there is not HH_MM.... I also copy the TXT info file into DT folder but I can't open any charts.... thank's in advance for help... braveheart2009 Posted December 31, 2011 Report Share Posted December 31, 2011 to convert the files from .prn to ASCII you need to select file>portfolio manager>ASCII Setup>[browse to mt4 prn files in experts>files folder] and add and save them also ensure that when selecting new chart option select ASCII file format not the default one took me ages to see that its at the top then your chart will appear. Open MT4 - make sure you have the MT4 indicator "MetToDet.ex4" runs in the instrument chart that you want to feed. Make sure you change the setting in the indicator to appropriate time frame/s that you want. Open DT6 - Click on File, then Portfolio, then ACSII setup, 1. select group files 2. c: program files, MT4 platform that you use, go to experts, files you'll see under # 3 Extension/file: prn. of course below that the list of instruments. 4. Date Format: CCYYMMDD 5. Time Format: HHMMSS 6. PRICE DISPLAY: 0.0000 7. SKIP: 0 8. Delimiter: Comma 9. Column position: date: 1 Time: 2 Open: 3 High: 4 Low: 5 Close: 6 Volume: 7 Open Int: 0, Then click Save ****Make sure under MT4 Platform, experts, files: has a file named "texinfo.inf" in that folder. the file should come with the met2dt6 indicator. that textinfo.inf file should list as such: delimit = , skip = 0 dt = 1 ti = 2 op = 3 hi = 4 lo = 5 cl = 6 vol = 7 oi = 0 dtformat = CCYYMMDD tiformat = HHMMSS ext = prn cf = 4 Final step: reopen DT6 again, while MT4 is still running. go to File, Portfolio manager, New, 1 select: ASCII, 2 Main C:, 3 program files, MT4, Experts, files, you'll see a list of instruments popped up in the folder, add all to the portfolio section and save them. Im using Win 7 please help I suggest installing mt4 to other location than "Program Files", Windows 7 has admin protection under Program files folder. That is, unless you run mt4 as admin, files may not be updated under Program Files mt4 install dir. When you run the indicator to a specfic pair chart, you should see files starting with e.g DT_EURUSD_M1, DT_EURUSD_M15 (for eurusd pair 1m and 15min timeframes selected for example) under <yourmt4installdir>\experts\files folder Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I keep reading about changing the text file but when I see the file in my mt4 I see no text file just prn. Can someone please help me get this working properly. I actually have one that works similarly, if you want I can gladly send you a copy....I payed a programer a few years back to wirite it...the only problem is that if you update your chart just at the moment when it´s changing values, it will crash te chart, and mostly you need to restart DT.. You need to paste it in your metatrader foder/expert/indicator Then go to metatrader, attach the indicator to chart (on propoertise you can se;ect each time frame you want). Go to DT and make a new portfolio. brows the generated files on your metatrader foder/expert/files Then you have the real time data (updated every minuet) in DT.
