The obvious fix would be to secure download links (they would be uploaded as attachments) so that only approved forum members can open them - except in designated free for all sections. This would allow one to both restrict downloads and to see who has downloaded what. That's how it was done at now deceased sites such as ewef.net. Of course it does, just protect the link with a password. Probably this can be started with the Hall of fame members being able to see and post to that section. We can start conservatively and then build on top of it. How about sharing certain premium content with selected contributors using PM or email ids created for this purpose. This will be a big hassle though. You can post the stuff you wanna share, protect with password, and then people will have to PM you to ask for it, you check their profile and see if they are an active member of the forum, or just those accounts with 1 to half dozen posts.
