You're right. GBP rose against the AUD (hint) but no where near to the unprecedented rise against the Greenback. News filter will help for sure however planning and being informed are crucial to trade the GBPUSD.

Isn't that called being a martingale? I've chucked Mr. CableLarikan into the dust bin. Yesterdays up trend happened during GMT afternoon/evening/next morning. Damage done X_X There was a GBP news event at 8:30 GMT (claimant count change) and a US news event at 8:10 GMT (Fed Speech). If one keeps to watching upcoming news events then no trades should have been placed for a day. How was one to know that the impact of these two high impact news events would carry a relentless upswing for 18 hours. When the GBP moves it REALLY moves. News filter would be great. I'm demoing the teknomage versions and for me the original CableLarikanMuruku v5 teknomage is working beautifully.

The recent teknomage has inconsistencies when placing trade baskets and has gaps in the trade baskets. This is what happens to me. I'm getting to believe that these Cable Run EA's are way too broker dependant or there are still some bugs. They should work the same. Can you add a news filter to the CableLarikanMuruku v5 teknomage just for me or anyone else who finds it useful? V5 teknomage doesn't work the same as the later mod for me. There are inconsistencies. I'm guessing that news filter is FFCl from Forex Factory? It's a good one.

One way to avoid break away trends is to not trade when there are high impact GBP and US news events just 20 min apart. And pay particular attention to high impact GBP news especially. GBP is renowned for massive movements that can destroy or fill up accounts. Set your news filter to not trade for 18hours or so after the fact and 4-6 hours before. Set the news filter to avoid high impact GBP news events/speeches only. The US news appears to not launch GBP/USD as much as GBP news.

This a news filter I got from XUX99; a programmer at the Forex factory. Works perfectly.

P.S I'm demoing latest teknomage mod with AXI trader (ECN insant execution) and even though there is an occasional invalid SL TP message in the journal it is working perfectly on this broker at this point in my testing. I can't change brokers just yet so thanks for any help teknomage. It's a big job but it's almost there.

Hi teknomage and everyone,

I've been getting error 130 (even on latest mod by teknomage). I spoke to my broker Go markets and asked about stop levels and a few other things upon researching error 130 on the internet. The broker told me that my problem is that my Ea is set to use instant execution for orders where they are market execution. Alpari is instant execution. Is there a way to change the coding to accept market execution orders or should I just change brokers? Any one please as this is important cause I've started trading live and I don't want my account to go Kaput!

I'm going to browse the entire thread again and hopefully I might pick up some useful info... @-)

My error 130 says this:#988675 Error: 130 Function: New Order (3,0.01,1,5851,0,0)36

Is it still because of invalid stops?. If anyone knows a bit more please don't hesitate to respond as this is also helps the entire thread. My range is set at 17. Do I change this to 170?

I also checked my broker stop level and it is 0 pips so the stop level is close but apparently according to teknomage it's not a problem.

Has this coding been utilised? Post #446. I had a look inside the coding. I wouldn't know where to put it.

Can some coding help here? Or do I just let go of CableLarikan ok 24H and move on to the other cool Ea's on this thread? Teknomage the mod version prevent errors is still doing so but it just might be an inherent problem with CableLarikan.

I haven't tried all of them. But I'm keen on trying CableLarikan ok 24H with basket profit EA live because even though it looks like it's risky to use... it works for me at this time. I have details on a demo in the previous pages. The teknomage version is safer and also considering using it live. The teknomage version won't make your heart miss a beat as much as the CableLarikan will (live money hypothesis). :D

Hey Tom, Error 130 had always been the bane of the earlier versions, which is I worked on getting rid of it in my mods. Are you using the original ok 24H version or the modded one with CloseTrades? Point me to the version u're using and i'll help you out...

Ok everyone stop what you're doing the parties over. I put CableLarikan ok 24H on to my live account today and the noticed that sell orders were not being opened as per what the demo along side it was doing. You got it... error 130. I know this has been brought up before but has it been resolved? Is it because my broker doesn't like what I'm trying to do or is it something easy to resolve. The reason why I had to try the original CableLarikan ok 24h is because it can make so much money so fast.... hey why not?

I've gone back to didier's post #553 and am working on it. I never knew what error 130 meant until now. Terrible! I'm really asking for some help or guidance here. @-)

From my limited scope of knowledge and from learning on this forum I can tell it's something that opens a lot of trades. Eg. max trades buy=31 max trades sell=31 Quantum step buy, pip step, lock ratio buy=0.5, lock ratio sell=0.5. Parameter explanations in Ruski. I'm guessing it's an EA that can open a lot of trades and then maybe start to increase lot sizes. I'd wack it on demo GBP/USD-EUR/USD 1 hr chart and then you'll probably find out. #:-S

With all due respect, I think this Forex-STF EA is a piece of crap.

 

Either the guy cannot code or the versions were from demos that were intentionally disabled for certain functions like 4/5 digit broker, TP, SL, and Trailing. He got them all wrong, and no wonder it didn't work.

 

I fixed the code and tested it a bit with Dukascopy tick data. It uses a stoploss of 225 pips and can hang in there for a long time. There may be some settings that are slightly profitable, for example on H1 when you use a more reasonable SL of 35 and a TP of about 100 pips, and let it trail with 25 pips.

 

I couldn't get anything profitable on M5. I tried the 'advanced' crap EA. The backtest is actually a scalper with TP=5 and SL=500 !!!! haha...

 

The default settings of TP=25 and SL=225 were also not profitable. Even if, who would really want to use a RR of 1:10? The whole thing looks like a cheap scam.

 

Thank you for bringing in this EA, you never know. But if you use this for trend recognition, you are really taking your chances.

I never backtest... I forward test and then put to using real money. I emailed Donna Forex about using Forex STF (standard version-advanced version is crap) on 5 minute chart because on 1 minute TF it would lose. She replied saying that the developers of Forex STF have told her it's much better on a 5 minute chart. Have some herbal tea and try some forward testing. Only problem is you might have to wait weeks for a trade. It wont happen overnight... but it will happen :)>-

On the statement it shows a trade using 1.25 lots to win $12.95. A decent EA will win $12.95 on 0.1 lots. A 1.25 lot is $12.50. So your betting $12.50 to win $12.95...

I have an EA that bets 0.01 lots and can win $12.95 (Give or take when EURUSD is trending)). The same bet with 1.25 lots with my EA would win $1295.00 and I would need an account of $10,000+ and even with an account that size it would be too risky. :-? Do you see my point?

Hi everyone NFP has just finished for this month and attached to this thread is the demo statement for CableLarikan ok 24H. Just a quick note anyone who has just arrived to this thread all questions answered and downloads obtained by searching the thread. @-)

Before NFP there was a sudden down drop in GBPUSD earlier yesterday and this account suffered about -$3200+ DD. Lots of trades open that should have been closed previously. I decided to cheat a bit and use the "Basket Profit" EA available in this thread and set the basket profit at $300 (for safety) and thus all trades close when this TP is reached. Lucky the GBPUSD went up far enough... what if it didn't? ~X(

Imagine doing this with real money. Wow. :-bd $3000 to $13127 in 10 trading days 0.1 lots.

Just a quick mention on demos and to avoid any future heartache. I'm running Standard Cable Larikan ok 24h from post #322 by leonytham. The one that I posted CableLarikan ok 24HCTWhile has been opening up trades in the other direction so I'm not going to use it anymore. It's happened twice for me. The demo started to red line. I'm going to remove it from the thread.

CableLarikan ok 24hClose Trades from #492 should be fine and CableLarikan ok 24H from #322. Demo them both and if they behave the same then consider using them.

A few words on getting trades closed asap. There is a basket profit EA that you can adjust to have all trades close when a certain amount of profit is reached. It has a SL as well. It's in the thread (I don't remember where) so you'll have to go looking.

I gave it a go... copied and pasted and came up with 76 errors when compiling. Teknomage gave me a hand and found that I had an extra bracket (he fixed it) and now it works. Might take a minute to close the trades though.

I don't know muruku I ran CableLarikan ATR mod (these exact settings except for double ATRDnLimit1 = 6.0; // your prevous post #335 was on 7.0). I ran these settings (post #355)and it resulted in massive DD (wet your pants type draw down). Draw down in sell trades while Standard CableLarikan ok 24h busting through the roof with buy trades.

Only problem is (still not rectified even after all this time) is that CableLarikan still doesn't close trades properly when in profit. I tried the WHILE loop (from a previous post) from muruku but it had trades in the wrong direction last night while the Standard Cable Larikan was in the right direction. I can't ignore physical evidence.

Demo started 8 trading days ago with Standard CableLarikan ok 24h available from post #322 at $3000. ATR 5. It is now Wednesday the following week. The demo is now up to $11346 equity $11345. All on 0.1 lots no increasing lots.

Note: I had to close trades manually for the first time last night because trades even from late last week were not being closed and were banking up.

It really could do with an "Close all trades now" parameter.

No real issues with them apart from occasional requote/slippage and they won't allow Shocker EA and one or two others. They hedge 25% of your position. It does make me wonder how reliable they are long term. Who do you use

Yes that's the mission. We can't be on here for the rest of our life. An important question comes to mind. If CableLarikan sucks up so much PC power is there a possibility that it might have some adverse effect on the broker server because of the power that it requires? Muruku has been trading live with it (or similar version) so I presume it's going to be ok.

To jumbo... I'm fortunate enough to be with a broker who's demo accounts behave almost exactly the same as a live account. The biggest difference between live and demo happens due to the indicator mechanism of the EA in question. Zig Zag entry is going to be the same but for other types it depends on factors that are beyond my knowledge.

Demo and Live are never the same according to Donna Forex but can get very close.

I assume the feature of closing trades on a Friday is going to be featured in your new version? I was actually just prepared to close them manually because the Standard Cable Larikan ok 24hr doesn't have it. Pardon me if I'm stating the obvious it's just that communication really has to be clear on these threads!

Probably not going to be the best week for earning as the market usually fizzles to almost a halt leading up to NFP but see how we go anyhow.

Cable Larikan ok 24hr ATR 7 demo stopped had to much DD anyhow.

Cable Larikan ok 24hr with internal ATR mod account expired but also had even more DD so discontinued.

Keeping the DD within reason is the key here. If I can double a $3000 demo in a week (Cable Larikan ok 24hr on ATR 5 demo is $6660 equity $7050 - just recovered from -$1,600+ DD-trades open from Friday)) that means I could have done the same with a $300 account using micro-lots. I reckon starting off with $500 on micro-lots is a definite possibility. The demo in mention here was started last Monday on 0.1 lots-no increasing lots. A week...

Can't run any more demos than this as PC power is being used up. Indo run 1.2 seems to open up trades in a similar manner to CR musketeer or even like the original Cable Run. Expat mentioned that the next version will feature a strategy option. Would it be fair to guess that a CableLarikan type strategy (cash machine strategy) is going to be featured?

One important thing I'd like to add is that if one decides to trade real money with this EA (I know I shall very soon) it might be worthy to note that the closing of all trades at the end of the week and starting fresh the next week could be a good idea. Good to avoid deeply entrenched DD on a Monday London Sunrise.
