  1. Hi Expat just wondering how to set up a dynamic profit properly. Currently using standard profit all order. Some of the trades on my visual testing warrant the 15 pip TP. Other times as expected the trades can take a lot more. For the sake of convenience could you please deliver some succinct guidance on this matter if it is possible? Can this EA recognise increased TP opportunities? Do I leave profit all order 15 pips and just turn dynamic profit on?

    Yours, starting to believe again,

    Tom

  2. I've spent most of today (day off work) to try and find a setting to avoid Tuesday the 9th's big price drop. Used visual back-test. Sadly nothing will stem the avalanche from bombing your account. I'm not going into details because there are too many. I've tried many different ATR settings, filters on their own, filters combined, TP settings, leaving pending orders active, SL etc. Usually the filters combined will stop trading when the market is normal and then open up trades for the big price drop.

The only thing that will help is to use the loss stop out but but that's a little unfair. GBPUSD usually dropping at a steady pace comes back up even when it falls quite significantly. A dynamic stop loss that recognises that the currency is falling too far and TOO FAST and then pulls the pin on the open trades would be the best way to go. I think price falling too fast is the thing to recognise. It's great when going in direction of profit not so good when going against you.

  3. Excellent suggestion. Am doing visual back-test from 9th Nov to 10th. Not really a comprehensive time period but the day starts off with a big price drop and the there is that massive decline of GBPUSD/EURUSD etc and all other currencies affected up or down to some extent at around 16:00+ GMT and onwards until 21:00 GMT or so. Have already learnt the importance of the Delete Pending Order mode and the benefits of leaving it at "true". It's a very well made EA, thanks for sharing Expat.
  4. I presume I do the same for MA current down?...set it to 0.0005 to allow an increase for the gap in price going down?

Ok with momentum filter default is current up 100.1 and current down is 99.9. If I want to "loosen" this filter do I also increase current up value and decrease current down value? How do the current and previous values relate/work with each other? Should be a last question for now because most of the other filters have the same format. Hey, big thanks.

  5. Thanks Expat... the right balance is what we need. To get this and allow some independent testing it would be nice to have instructions on each filter parameter.

    E.g. MACurrentUp = 0.00025 set to 0.0005

What does this setting mean? To me it looks like you're increasing something not decreasing. A succinct overview of the filter parameters would be helpful..

Nothing complicated just like for eg. MACurrentUp = 0.00025 set to 0.0005 (what do these digits refer to? Not your normal MA indicator).

  6. Awesome. A question I would like to ask and hopefully someone can answer. Which indicator within Indo 1.4 is most likely or at least has a chance to protect your account during sudden, unannounced "ambush" price movements like the one that happened Tuesday the 9th November? I can't think of a more important question... can you? Any insights would be great.
  7. Is this the complaints department? Joke. Just would like to say what a great EA. Just running it on ATR (and experimenting with ATR tweaks). Tried running ATR filter with Momentum filter and ATR filter with RSI filter and it hardly (actually like nada) trades. This is normal because too many filters just strangle performance on any EA. My impression is that you use the filter (only one) of your choice unless Expat has any further words of advice :-/
  8. Well gents Indo run 1.4 without filters placed trades at the opening of today's GBPUSD news event and they're hanging in the sky. Indo Run 1.4N with momentum and RSI filters on didn't open any trades. A step in the right direction. This is to test against unannounced price hikes because they do happen and they usually don't make you happy ~X(
  9. Yes my friend I can relate I have been very happy as of late but yesterdays big price move by the US selling bonds was totally unannounced and look what has happened to GBPUSD, EURUSD etc. One really has to stick to trading this EA between 21:00 - 6:00 GMT.

  10. I've put it onto a demo and after looking at the parameters all I can say is wow! I like how you put the ATR uplimit 3 and downlimit 3 back to 26 and 24. Works better. Are all the new filters meant to be run each on their own and separately or would it be possible to run ATR filtering in conjunction with RSI filtering for example? Is this a learn as we go experience?
  11. Just received message from teknomage he's flat out with work projects. Until then it's the users responsibility to judge the appropriate lot size for account size and I do believe Inc Lot parameter is a tool for increasing lot size if you wish to do so. That's it from me for now. Adios amigos :-bd
  12. Would I be correct to presume that you've traded GBPUSD during day time GMT and possibly during or close to news events? If you trade the Cable Runs during night time GMT you really shouldn't have a problem. Only thing is, is the big bucks are there to be taken during the day... money... money @-)

The other versions can be profitable but you have to try different TP's and ATR settings. Mate... have a go why don't you? You have to experiment. You have to keep going or find something else to do.

  13. If Cable Larikan OK 24HR works for you then that is good. For me and lot of other people it doesn't. Use what works for you. We try and help each other here as much as we can. But everyone has to work out what works best for themselves. One thing that can help TP with tekno v2 FFcal is the basket profit EA. All trades will close at profit of your choice in dollars. Has SL in dollars too. Very handy little item.

  14. Look's like you have too much struggling & you keep engaging the team here to refine the codes ?

You may not aware of those trades rejection solely seen in your broker yet you claimed they r good ?

I do my own work Muruku unless it's coding. That's why I'm here. I'm trying to convince teknomage to add a news filter to V5 ^:)^ Well if I solve TP issue on tekno2 FFcal there won't be a need really.

Actually I'm running tekno V5 on live account and working exactly the same as the demo. Takes profit perfectly.

The later version tekno 2 FFCal I've been playing with because of the two ATR settings. I have it on demo and it goes into profit beautifully but doesn't keep the profit and then goes into loss at times. I'm using the tekno V5 because it works like the Cable Larikan Ok 24 HR's and it's consistent. I can't use any of the previous versions (including yours) because they come with error 130 for me. My broker is honest so far. They are electronic STP with bank feed. If I have problems when account gets bigger I'll deal with it then.

Nice to hear from you again. Hope you had a nice holiday :)

P.S actually I think tekno 2 FFcal is potentially a better EA. Teknomage, I'm finding the TP difficult to control. Using profit mode 2. It doesn't take the profit that you specify. Penny for your thoughts?

  15. tomislav,

what did you put atr period & atr pre period?

Default ATR 7. The ATR pre-periods on the later tekno versions I've tried from 16 - 14. Is there a better combo? I've also had TP issues with the later tekno versions.

Guys if you're using 5 digit brokers you should use teknomage versions and Indo Run versions. Throw the rest away (Cable Muruku 4, Cable Larikan Ok 24 HR) as they will give you errors (error 130 usually). If you're on a 4 digit broker you're probably ok. I've tried Cable Larikan ok 24HR on a 5 digit broker with real money. Results not good.

  16. Hi teknomage haven't been here for ages didn't know you were back. I've found V5 to be the best one for me after all. Really tried with the latest versions and I still get the best results on V5. And I hear I'm not the only who thinks so. Is there any chance of getting a news filter added to V5? It'd make things easier when one's away from home. Also I'm finding EURCHF being quite suitable to trade as a substitute for GBPUSD so far. EURUSD is looking ok too... Much safer during GMT day hours. When GBPUSD moves during news look out.

The time filters are fine on V5 to use when avoiding news I suppose. News Filter is great to have in case you get stuck away from home for a day or two. :D

  17. I searched for a review and a promo page came up saying "could this be the next revolution in forex trading?!!".

My fingers tripped over them selves to get to the buy page and then to my utter disappointment the sales page came up with "SOLD OUT" but they graciously offered to accept my e-mail just in case there were some future openings for unfortunate late comers like me. I really hope they let me buy it soon! Please... just take my money... I must have it!
