I'm checking both demo and real account of lucky candles v3.0 and I don't understand somethings:

first thing I don't understand it's the so great difference in profit gain but especially the drowdown,

if you put a custom start date both for demo and real from 19 february you have: demo 67%gain 6%DD, while real 13%gain 33%DD

although I know demo performances are always better but why such great difference ? this is not a scalping EA so I don't understand such difference, maybe different broker ??? The strange thing is that on real account broker is hidden ...... and It seems only broker is hidden.

what do you think ???

why such difference ? I should also ask to the author of the ea.

I spoke with the author of the ea, he reccomended me lucky candles v3 or new pyramid ea,

both don't use any martingale as he told me, but I'm interested in lucky candles v2 because it's cheaper than others and it seems to me to not be too much inferior product than the others more expensive ea. ( as I see on real account on myfxbook, those with ® are real accounts ).

What's your opinion about those ea ?

I like them because no indicators are used, only candles analysis.

Forget backtests with such EAs.

I´m using DP already for 2 weeks and had no loosing trade on EURGBP and virtually no losses on EURCHF.

EURUSD and USDCHF however ate up nearly all the profits again, so next week I will reduce lot size for those 2 pairs and reduce the trading period to 21-23GMT, because before 21GMT there are sometims trends without retracements, and after 23GMT, probably when Asia opens, excessive movements. Both are not seen in EURGBP and EURCHF, which were traded 19-23GMT, I will now extend them to 01GMT.

Backtest EURGBP in the same period however shows only 2 trades (settings the same like on live trading), while there were in average 2-3 trades each day on my account.

 

May be you should try to increase the modeling quality as described in the forum, this might help. Such EAs are very sensitive to this, while Martingale EAs usually do not differ so much in backtests.

in openhour and closehour should I have to put just gmt+0 hour or my broker hour gmt+2 (alpari uk) ?

for what I've seen so far I think:

EA KAIN (I used it since 1 month and it seems to make some profit)

Megadroid 1.21 default setting on EURUSD (few trades but overall it gives profit, some people around use it even at 30% risk, make a search on myfxbook and you see it)

MegaDroidPro 1.01 (still testing from short time but I thing is good)

EA Shocker ( still testing from short time, last time some SL hit but I think it should make some profit in the long run)

FxRangeBreaker (maybe also this have potential profit but I still don't know how optimize it well)

FX5 Macd Divergence EA from tradingsystemforex ( swing trading still testing on GBPJPY H4 with optimized setting)

 

I think the success is on higher timeframe trade like swing trading, breakout on h1, h4 and daily TF and not scalping with risk many pips for a few pips of profit.

 

Still doubtful if it's possible truly earn with EA or maybe only professional traders that trade manual make real profit in forex.

See in the future how things will go.

I don't know, anyway I set dst=true and automatic gmt = true and forex shocker comment on chart says gmt offset = 2 which is correct now on alpari broker, but I think is the same if you put dst=false, automatic gmt = false and manual gmt = 2, so I still don't understand well the utility of usedst (simply add +1 hour ???)

can you share your settings file ? just one pair is sufficient like eurusd or usdchf

Hi all, megadroid pro seems to be the best scalper around here, so I download 1.01 ee and I did some backtest with default settings changing only lot size and gmt but backtest result was poor, also I tried to change pair and logic but the result was the same.

what's wrong ?

If I don't have a good backtest I don't think to put it on forward test.

my doubt is that UseDST work only when Automatic GMT is set to true,

because if I set manual GMT+1 and UseDST to true the EA comment on chart show GMT+1

but if I set automatic GMT and UseDST still to true the EA comment on chart show GMT+2

I'm on alpari UK.

since 28 march I switch UseDST to true with manual GMT offset +1.

Is it correct on alpari UK broker ?

the myfxbook eakain developer account is a real account not demo and it's verified.

it's supposed that when an account is verified you can't change real or demo as you want,

it's set by the system after verification.

if there were demo accounts I would not post what I said before.

hitescape , i agree with your opinion but if I see myfxbook activetrades eakain developer account it's goin' very well

and it's a verified account, so I suppose that if I open the same account with activetrades and use the same eakain ea, same version with good vps located in uk I don't say thai I will have the same exact results but approximately it 's supposed to be the same performance:

 

EAKAIN NORMAL ACTIVTRADES INTERBANK gain 60%, monthly gain about 22% (verified account active since 3 months)

EAKAIN AGGRESSIVE ACTIVTRADES INTERBANK gain 126%, monthly gain 46% (verified account active since 3 months)

 

so with same ea, same broker, good vps i don't say 60% in normal or 120% in aggressive mode

but I suppose even half the performance that the developer is having it's a good and nice performace for me !! (30% normal, 60% aggressive )

I mean it's not possible that the developer make 60% - 120% and at the same time I make no money or even lost with same setup.

If verified account could be manipulated then it's onother thing, but i don't think so....

or maybe the developer manual manage bad trades and he 's able to repair on every bad conditions? also i don't think this

maybe could repair some trades but not many trades in 3 months....

 

so for me forex still has many mysteries that i don't understand well and this one it's one of those mysteries.

I got no trades and in the journal tab I got many string notification but nothing else.I'm tryng with defaul settings and scalper strategy to false.

I'm thinking that instead of waste time and become crazy with slippage, requote problem on standard broker account making continous problems to scalpers ea like eakain, I will close alpari account and I will open an activetrades interbank account with only eakain on it and theoretically there will be no more problems and start to make real profits? that's all, right ?

 

if you see myfxbook interbank activetrades real account of the developer is: 60% gain normal mode, 126% aggressive mode.

 

I can be sure of this by reference developer account performances on ecn account ? so simple ? :-?

I also understand that it's better to try ea live straight on real account with fixed lots at 0.01 instead of first try on demo and waste time...

since 15 march I'm using this EA on alpari demo account:

so far, 7 trades all in profit.

 

I've optimized it based on last 6 months backtest, so I use a set for usdchf and a set for eurusd.

fixed lots = 0.01

multiply 2

maxtrades = 2

version: v4f

 

I don't understand well if it use a stoploss, 'cause trades are open without stoploss,

but there are stoploss parameter in the settings, maybe only last trades opened are with stoploss.

so I don't like it very much because of no stoploss.

 

I will check performance on the next days.

but already I got an alpari account... and activetrades interbank account has 0.1 as min lot...no micro lot as for all ecn I think :(

in your opinion which is minimum account deposit to run safe eakain normal mode with fixed 0.1 lot ? I mean just to try on activetrades interbank ....if things goes fine than increase deposit.

500euro deposit could be fine just to try ? maybe not all pairs.

'cause I'm trading all pairs except eurchf, eurgbp and gbpchf , due to bad results that I got during this period with primeval, but I think that eakain is more safe and it can trade this pairs in normal mode also in this bad gbp pairs period.
