Treating demo like it’s real with HFM and sticking to a written plan really tames the fear/greed loop for me. Do you size positions by fixed % or ATR when going live?
  2. binaryowner
Emotions decide whether you execute the plan; analysis just writes it. I use a pre-trade checklist and strict “if–then” exit rules. Basically a “proper trade management plan”, i.e. to curb second-guessing

I got 80% from free YouTube, but my risk management only clicked after a structured course from HFM forced me to journal and get feedback. If budget’s tight, pair YT with a strict plan + public journaling for accountability

What actually matters for me is execution quality (fills/slippage during news) and withdrawals under a real license. I still test HFM on a small live account after demo: if depth thins out at rollover or during CPI/NFP, I move on

In the HFM contests I’ve joined, I treat them as execution drills rather than edge validation—spreads/fills differ from live. So does HFM pay cash or credit with turnover rules?

HFM demo contest … win 1K’ sounds solid - does the prize come as withdrawable cash or as credit with turnover requirements? From my contest experience, fills/spreads can differ from live, so I treat them as practice for execution speed, not a proof of edge

To have the ultimate advantage, you need to do much as you can to educate yourself and fill yourself with knowledge. There are always more things to learn, like from youtube videos, broker webinars, for example from HFM, etc.

I’d say starting with trend following using moving averages or RSI is solid. My experience with HFM shows that combining a demo account with strict risk rules builds very good foundations quickly

I found demo trading at HFM invaluable—building that foundation before risking real capital really stabilized my mindset and performance

I've logged hundreds of demo hours with HFM before going live. Treating demo funds like real capital built the discipline that saved me from blowing up early on

Any news on latest demo tournament? When will results come out?

I’m new to contests but ran two last year with demo accounts—best part is stress‑testing strategies without risking real equity. Anyone else use contests to refine their risk control and discipline first?

Since mastering leverage and risk management is key, what simple demo‑account routine helped you wrap your head around pip value and position sizing?

How long have you been trading with each of those brokers? Btw what is your experience with Hotforex because I trade with them and want more feedback about them.

as a newbie, I’ve noticed HFM’s tight execution on news events helps reduce slippage. Still testing, but my demo trades have been encouraging so far

I found using a solid, regulated platform like HFM gave me peace of mind and helped me focus on my risk rules. Even as a newbie, that stability made me feel like a real pro.

From my trading desk, limit orders helped me enter at precise levels, while stop orders kept me safe against sharp reversals. Learning OCO saved me from overexposure—two orders in place but only one filled is pure peace of mind

Speaking as someone who’s used ASIC-regulated brokers before like HFM - I'd recommend checking their ASIC license firsthand and comparing spreads; my experience is that trusted regulation equals peace of mind

As a newbie trading with HFM I'm focusing now on solid position sizing and risk/reward before diving into advanced strategies—your emphasis makes sense. I’ve been using demo accounts to grind risk control before going live

Forex trading offers flexibility, but it's crucial to understand the risks involved. Starting with a demo account, for example with HFM, can help build confidence before transitioning to live trading.

Money management truly is the backbone of sustainable forex trading; it's far more vital than simply having a good entry strategy. This was the key thing I learned from HFM's webinars. Focusing on consistent 1-2% risk per trade and protecting your capital above all else is key for long-term survival in these markets.

Have you tried anything like that? It is actually great in terms of enriching your trading experience because competition adds motivation to think and invent something smarter and better

Does Hotforex allow high frequency scalping? Any experience trading using such strategies with them?
  24. binaryowner
Yeah I think you have to try HFM demo contest because no risks but it is pretty possible you can make good profits from demo and won 1K for trading... I think it is fair deal

I use trailing stop loss for that with HFM because in my view it is much more efficient than regular stop loss which is not so flexible
