CME Reduces Tick Size of EUR/USD Futures

 

Effective Sunday, January 10th, the minimum price increment for the CME’s standard-size EUR/USD futures (6E) will be reduced from 1-pip ($12.50 per contract) to 1/2-pip ($6.25 per contract). The shift to half ticks is expected to provide more actionable liquidity.

As a result of this change, users of NinjaTrader will need to update their tick sizes to receive accurate quotes and ensure consistent execution prices. Included below are instructions to make the required changes along with a quick video tutorial reviewing the process.

  [*=left]Double-click the 6E listing that appears
  [*=left]Open the “Tick Size” drop-down menu, then select “0.00005”

I don't know perhaps someone here does, my first thought was is this could bring in more traders and if it did they will probably do the same for the other currencies.
