ForexMike
Why are people having a problem with dannydon786's thread? If you have a problem with it, question it nicely instead of attacking him as you are. dannydon786 is an excellent contributor to this forum and doesn't deserve this kind of postings. This thread is to follow his steps and answer questions 1-6 in the same format he has done. If you have an issue, send a pm to him. If you have an urge to attack him, then don't post on this thread. dannydon786

Fxgeekstar
1. No. I look at my profit/loss at the end of the month. 2. I prefer to trade on the side of momentum, basically trend markets. 3. Moving Averages and Support and Resistance. 4. Around 60% 5. About 2-3 trades a week. 6. Keep it simple. Select a couple of strategies that resonates with you and keep executing them consistently even if there is a string of losses. Every strategy has its win/loss probability but you need to continue trading it in order for it to materialise dannydon786

Really?!, well it's not really a good news for a beginner as i am to know that, but in the other hand, it's good if you find it as a fun hobby. I do hope you'll find better strategies, and then meet success in it. Why not trying to follow Fxgeekstar's suggestions? dave123
I think I am right in saying that dannydon gave everyone the impression that he was going to share his 'profitable' trading system on II not so long back. I don't think that one materialized. (think there might be a credibility issue Danny unless you can deliver something)

And.. I'm improving all the time. Money management has been my downfall time and time again. And not using a stop when my system dictates it.. DAMN YOU GREED! Did you learn the basic idea of trading Like from e-books and videos? And did you practice with the demo account or you jump into a trading immediately? If you just jump into trading immediately, then you are gambling. If you had learn but still fail, perhaps you are not practice enough. Practice more with demo account, until you can minimze the lost during trading, then you can trade for real. I do take 2 years in practice and learning before I really start trading. dannydon786
Thank you Dave for your reply...yes I wanted to share my system here with everyone but did not go ahead...apologies for that..I know people were looking forward to it....there had been some real issues, not with the system but other things including secuity issues and I thought wise not to go ahead.... BUT I do accept full reponsibility and that thread should not have ever been posted but it is blocked now, however, my system is very simple, (anyone can do it) no indicators just naked trading...the only thing which is going to set all of apart is timing of trades and that is the real point.... I think I am right in saying that dannydon gave everyone the impression that he was going to share his 'profitable' trading system on II not so long back. I don't think that one materialized. I just realized after much loss. From there started to learn with the demo and now start using real account. Quote www.instaforex.com
kakrosie
Learning to trade the market profitably can take a considerable time, depending on each individual's learning capacity. However, I must say 6 to 7 years is a rather long time. The good news is you have identified your problems areas. Firstly, you are treating it like a hobby and it has been fun. Contrary to popular belief, trading successfully is usually very boring because it is about consistently executing your trades based on proven strategies. And because it is boring, I seriously doubt it will ever be a hobby. The fun part of trading has got nothing to do with the trading itself, it has all to do with the things you can do/buy with the trading profits. Next, control your risk for EVERY trade. A setup may look and feel like the last one but every trade is new and different. No matter how confident you are, you must never risk more than you stipulated for each trade. All it takes is one moment of ******ity and you will lose all your profits and more. Not to mention the countless hours spent building up your account. Lastly, not using a stop loss is the ultimate sin. Think about it, if you do not place a stop loss, you are actually saying that you know what is going to happen next. Well, if you have been trading for 6-7 years you should know by now the market can behave in ways that you least expected. So placing a stop loss will at least limit your losses if you are wrong. Admit that you are wrong, take the loss and move on. Wait for the next setup and execute your trades consistently. Remember, trading profitably is supposed to be boring. If you want to have fun, go to a casino. Well yes.... I have been trading for 6-7 years. and I am.................... still not profitable :( But its a fun hobby. And.. I'm improving all the time. Fx-trader
Until your ready to check your ego at the door trying to learn anything new will always be hard as many are programmed to be know it alls. I think I am one but in order to re-program myself i had to admit I needed to change and only then could I start to move along the path of success, not there yet but much closer.
