sepa Posted February 26, 2012 Report Share Posted February 26, 2012 (edited) Given this seems to be the last bastion of Ninjatrader 6.5 traders, has any IB users managed to get NT6.5 working since IB stopped TWS 917.8? I've tried TWS 918.9 but couldn't get NT6.5 to connect. It should work with TWS 917.9 but I can't find a copy of that anywhere, so if anyone has it, can you please post it. Might be time to give NT6.5 away for good, but I still have a few NT6.5-only indicators I like to consult. Btw, Egaalh, I notice you have been trying to get BWTpercentRStoch converted to NT7. When I was trading your strategy, I tried it on NT7 and just substituted the StochasticsFast indicator for BWTpercentRStoch. StochFast is almost identical except for a bit of smoothing and the colour changes. I used the 5 period and displacement of -1. You might want to make your own indicator and code that in, along with colour changes (there's a StochasticsColor indicator out there for the code). Not sure of all the indicators you are using now, but the basic ones - Donchian Channel, SMI4, BollingerPercentB2, ColorSampleUniversalMovingAverage and of course Ema34 all work in NT7. The only one that doesn't work is BWTpercentRStoch but, as you use it, this is only a Stochastics indicator with a bit of smoothing and some nice colour plotting thrown in. Just substitute a Stochastics indicator - I used StochasticsFast (see my previous post) and it threw up all the same entry and exit points, though I haven't extensively tested it. I tried on mini ES in 5min chart on SIM acct with live and backdata between 9am-12pm ET where its mostly active. Any other hours and you'll fluctuate between 2-3 points and won't make profit. 1min is too sporadic and 15min is too dangerous if your lot is big.
