checkmail Posted November 22, 2010 Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 Hello friends this is checkmail and while trading am facing some fancy losses, due to no breakout or reversal indicator. Wait am not telling that am not using any breakout or reversal indicator, but even have tried with ema and diff trend lines but am unable to point out the breakout or reversal of the trend correctly. What i mean is at a certain moment signal given by any indicator for breakout or reversal, the trend doesn't follow it but keep going on and makes losses more. So friends do we have any accurate or nearly perfect breakout/reversals indicator to pin-point the tops and bottoms accurately or nearly accurate. Please share here such indicators, or different settings of avail indicators, or even an EA that could inform us about the turning point in the trend. A fractal will tell you there has been a reversal but that will be three bars later. If the move continues then you can say that it told you correctly. You can look for a pinbar at the end of a trend. That sometimes works. In general trading is a gamble. You trade the reversal and hope for the best. Diesel 10 Posted November 22, 2010 Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 One thing to look for is a close below the low of the high bar for a reversal down and a close above the high of the low bar for a reversal up. The dot is not painted on the active candle but on the previous candle as soon as the conditions for the dot are met ( ADX crosses ). ----> a dot is painted somewhere between the open and close of the active candle. 2. I have never seen a dot disappear, neither in visual backtest in strategy tester on M1 M5 or higher - nor in live-trading. If you have seen it, well - what can we do ? I am sorry too because I have not only backtested for hours but traded many hours live .... and never ever a painted dot disappeared. We seem to have different Mt4s or using a different indicator. The only way the dot disappears is if you change time frames and then back to the original frame. Then sometimes it disappears. However, as fxeasy5 mentioned the signals can sometimes happen midbar and puts the dot on the previous bar. So you shouldn't assume you can enter on the opening of the bar after the dot. kraven Posted January 14, 2011 Report Share Posted January 14, 2011 i've tried ADX (mrpips) indi and although it does not repaint, as when dots are there they stay, it does however very delayed in painting the dots. i've just witnessed it paint it's dots after 2 full bars had closed (15m TF), after that the price reversed.
