Tradestation 8.7 Build 3085 + Owndata 2.7

Thanks very much, actually you are ahead of me, i am using TS in the offline mode, I never installed owndata because my esetnod virus program detected a trojan, this is the reason I wanted to know if you had found any virus. So I am not able to help you with your question, since I have not installed owndata yet, what link for own data did you use

i've installed TS 8.7. and Owndata 2.7.

i wanted to run TS with mt4 datafeed, in owndata everything works fine, but in TS everytime opening a chart it searches for a default symbol (CSCO, a stock maybe) and then Tradestation crashes,

any advice?

Hi Deorn;

 

Go to Started > Owndata 2.7 > and check "Switch", then OD 2.7 work with TS 8.7.

In OD 2.7 define Metatrader template: MT4.

Next, open OD 2.7 and TS 8.7 > select Format Symbol, setting date and time frame, and type for example MT4: EURUSD (NOT +MT4: EURUSD) then plot in real time.

i clicked switch in the owndata folder, opened OD 2.7. were everything works with the DDE Datasource, the column "Collect RT Data w/o Plotting" says On and gets data from MT4

in TS working offline, opening a new window, then Chart Analysis, then it searches for a default Symbol (CSCO, probably a stock), now when clicking format symbol, TS freezes

 

my OS is win7 32bit

The name of Metatrader Template should be MT4 in the OD 2.7, then when open a chart: Format symbol > MT4: EURUSD (for example).

I read the post in 'http://indo-investasi.com/showthread.php/11623-Tradestation-8.7-b3085-Owndata-2.7-CHART-FREEZE?p=133776#post133776' that had the same problem as I had. The sucessful crack for the owndata said "Thank you for registration".

 

So I might be thinking the original owndata posted by the thread starter might do the job. And I believe most anti-virus software will think a crack file or keygen as a threat. That is not the problem.

 

Nevermind. I got it already from another thread.

It appears that the only way to import data into TradeStation is through the GlobalServer utility. Does anyone know how to use GlobalServer or know where to get its user's manual? I'd like to import EOD stock data from Yahoo.

For import EOD stock data from Yahoo, you need Owndata, it is not possible with Globalserver, the connection is simple:

 

Owndata 2.7 > Tradestation 8.7

 

In OD 2.7 remember select "Switch" (in your PC: "Start" > OD 2.7 > Switch)

 

1) In Owndata go to the toolbar, and select Data Sources, then you can see Free Quotes (F).

2) Next in the toolbar select: Symbol > Add Symbol > Manually (and select Free Quotes like Data Source, and select Category and Exchange). For example write MSFT symbol.

3) Right button on the symbol and select "Fields to Collect" and check all box.

4) Right button again and select "Connect Symbol" (look below the window), then in the column, to the right, says "Not supported", but this does not have importance, the connection is OK.

5) Open TS 8.7, go the File > New > Workspace, and next open a new Chart (look chart button at left).

6) Now the screen is black, then on the screen right button and select "Format Symbol" (look above the window)

7) In Format Symbol you must write for example F: MSFT and select Daily, then appear a chart. Repeat all for other symbols.

If you, do not add a Symbol from OD 2.7, then of course, this symbol, will not appear on the screen.

I did not try, because RTQ is delayed 15 minutes in real time. For free stock data in real time I connect MT4 of Stock and Index CFD´s broker to OD 2.7. But the only problem is that, send a prices, but not a Volume (in real time). I work only with Commodities.

This connection do not work with backfilling, first you must import historical intraday data, and next connect real time.

Hi Bill;

 

Download and install MT4 of AVA FX or GCI broker.

Those MT4 have CFD of Stocks, Index, and Commodities.

Next, open MT4, go to toolbar > Tools > Options > Server (sheet) > Enable DDE (check box).

Now MT4 is able to send real time data to OD 2.7 or Quotemanager of Multicharts.

 

But the best, is to have a DDE like eSignal, IQFeed, etc. Also, in MC8, I use MBTrading for Forex and Commodities Futures contracts, because have backfilling.

Does anyone know that we can use a cracked TS to use TS's historical data for free? I mean, since a lot of people try to find cracked TS, but how do you get the free data feed?? Does a cracked TS also provide free data feed?? or any other way to get free CME future historical data?
