one thing. don't think of it as purely trading the news. but as an entry point with stimulus to move in a certain direction. we have our entry point (candle break) our stimulus (news) and the direction (the markets response to news) added to this a SL (10,20 or other end of candle). Remember, markets move up or down after news (think about it).

The 06:00 - 06:29 range broke well, retraced then went down for 50+

I guess that I would have done that in two goes, chickened out as it came back from 15-17 and jumped back in later.

There is a school of thought that says that multi 'bites' is a safe way to go.

the 10:30 breakout went well.

I didn't bother trying to demo it today. Yesterday's power out decided me but there was no cut today.

It is not a bad service as such, just that our power comes in overland and the company are installing new meters outside the houses on the road side poles. It all seems a bit ad-hoc.

The Breakout (14 - 16 GMT) work fine for me, today 65 Pips on E/U and G/U ;)

Always pleased to hear of successes, Naranjablue. I have been thinking about an early BO for the Asian session. The bars always look particularly small from just before midnight to just after.

On another thread, Fast50pips... Someone is selling just such a system :Take four hours from 23.00 to 02.00 UK time and straddle. I will include that in my 'breaks to watch' in future.

No good to me here but maybe when I go to Malaysia

What we need is an EA where you can specifythe time and a breakout can be entered. Preferably one which allows more than one box to be created. Should be a simple ea to code - is there not one around that anybody knows of?

Would be rather handy.

Hi freddie,

i do not know with how many systems i worked, but the London Breakout is total easy.

Today i will take a look at 23 to 02 ;) It is for me not a problem, because i´m in Argentina (GMT -3).

@pardy

on one of my demo i try the EA from Steve Hopwood, so let me take a look how it works.

Thanks, could you provide the link - s hopwood has many ea's i think! also a similar ea is being designed on the 3 tier thread on ff as well.

i feel any method be it BO's or MA's etc would make pips in the last couple of days because you'd be bound to catch the down trend at some point.

You are quite right, of course. How did your News trade go?

Just the US today, I think, 13:30 candle?

Just posted this on the 'fast50pips...' thread but thought that you might like to see it naranjablue. It made 70 odd pips.

There is a lot of talk on that thread about what is the correct set of hours and does GMT, DST, BST come in to it. My view is just take a time around midnight, whatever that means to you.

went well. with 2 news items tight together i noticed that uk claiment count was quickly getting ignored, it looked like people were ready to sell for BOE anouncement, when it broke out my 10am bo box i got in so i entered a sell just before BOE. nice 60pips (could have been 80 but i went out). in the afternoon US unemloyment, tricky one but i sold after candle break (toss up between EU and GU) i picked the wrong one i went with GU, anyway break was slow and market had already dropped 180pips so i jumped out with +15 as soon as i done that it went for +40....now if i had gone with my first instinct of EU and done the same +100

Never mind the 'would haves', you did win after all!!

That looks rather rude so I will add this :-)

I have read this entire thread and I'd like to learn how you trade BO's on news releases but I'm confused. I'm in EST (NY) time zone. Which news releases do you trade BO's on? Which pairs do you pick to trade for each news release? How long have you been successfully trading this strategy? Do you keep a 15 min chart open and wait for news to come out at say 8:00am .... then mark the high/low from the period of 8am - 8:15am and take the trade once it breaks the high/low? Do you add a buffer or just go in as soon as it breaks the high? What do you use for a SL? Do you use the high/low of the news candle and if so, do you add a buffer to it?

Sorry for all of the questions. I just want to be well informed on how to trade this method.

I will start to answer the easy bits and hopefully Kraven will do the specialist bits.

1. Download 'easy news trader' it is on site. Use search.

2. Get the FF calendar and alter the time on it so that it agrees with your time in NY.

3. Look for red indicators on the FF calendar for USD (GBP would be while you are in bed and asleep I expect.

5. Open a 15 min Chart of $ and whatever you prefer.

6. Keep a 15 min chart open and wait for news to come out at say 8:00am .... then mark the high/low from the period of 8am - 8:15am and take the trade once it breaks the high/low.

I will leave Kraven to finish...but I am quite sure that Easy News covers it all

Traffic in London, Paris and Sofia is all the same, Yorgo - Car:Voiture:Kola:Car:Voiture:Kola:Car:Voiture:Kola:Car:Voiture:Kola:

Yesterday's breakouts on the £$ were better, 07:30 went to 30+, 10:30 went to 40+.

10:30 BOE gave us 20 before it retraced.

Thanks for the reply to my question. I read the Easy News pdf and it helped a lot.

Are there additional news releases that you all trade aside from the ones listed in

the PDF? Do you trade E/U and G/U only? It seems that it can be tricky in deciding

which pairs to trade. I'm in NY but do trade London session at times.

As for the breakouts you mentioned in your last post, is that from news releases

as well or a separate BO strategy?
