I was talking to him and he says he places some code in the MQ4, then hex edits the ex4 after compiling to make the decompiler look at it as broken or protected.

 

Any idea how he is doing it? Can you decompile his anti-decompile ex4 he has?

I think he manipulate the file header in the ex4 file that the decompiler thinks the file is broken. But when you restore the header it should work again. Not a really good protection.

Had a quick glimpse of this guy's web site. What a joke. What on earth would anyone want to submit his/her precious MQl4/EX4 in order to get it scrambled? It contradicts to the original intention of protecting the source code. His guarantee means absolutely nothing!

Everytime I have tried to hex edit an ex4, it doesn't de-compile, but it also wont run in metatrader because it's broken.

 

How exactly would you go about editing the header while still keeping it's functionability in MT4?

Can anyone here do anything with DLL files? This is where many systems get up to all sorts of fun and games so it would be fantastic if we could unwravel them to see what is going on.

yeah there are plenty of guys here that can manipulate dll files here. i hope i understood your question correctly though. anyhow, first comes to mind is birt, bbrain, scarface,cyrillic and some others. these guys are on a different level with this stuff.
