Acerinvest Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 There has been some question, at least by me, regarding the optimal settings for various of the indicators. Set the MarketBias period too long and you miss out on short term retracements or too short and you fail to see the long-term trend. Here is a solution I have found useful. I have modifed the MarketBias indicator to plot lines rather than histograms and then plot five MarketBias lines with periods of 21, 34, 55, 89 and 144. Why these periods? Well everything else seems to follow Fibonacci so seemed a good selection. I have had to put this into three separate indicators because, probably, of my coding inadequacy. Just load all three onto the same chart. Only trade when all lines are showing the same colour. http://www.4shared.com/file/VzlfpcHF/MKBiasSF2.html http://www.4shared.com/file/t2cwfqf9/MKBiasSF3.html http://www.4shared.com/file/JeqIBxOY/MKBiasSF1.html samk090905, cazador and Mr4x 3

Acerinvest Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 Hi Cazador To stop it looking too cluttered I load all three MKBias indicators onto the same sub-chart by dragging and dropping them there.

Mr4x Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) Great work Acerinvest. I really like what you've done with the multiple settings on the Market Bias. I personally like to see them on my chart so I have taken your indicators and changed them to show on my price chart. http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/5176/marketbiasonchart.gif A new signal indicator will be released with these Market Bias settings as soon as I get the chance to code it. http://www.mediafire.com/file/yzj1zhmndyc/MKBiasSF1 OC.mq4 http://www.mediafire.com/file/yiwdgumnzvh/MKBiasSF2 OC.mq4 http://www.mediafire.com/file/ntmmzwm1jfm/MKBiasSF3 OC.mq4 Edited May 10, 2010 by Mr4x samk090905 and cazador 2

Mr4x Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 Looking good Caz. If you can't trade that then you may want to think about letting someone else manage your account. Great job.
samk090905 Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 mr4x; can this be traded on any tf or is it "optimal" for a particular time frame? btw; thank you(acer,mr4x,and caz).
abdul73 Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 thanks a lot for ur hard works hi there whats the other indicator bottom of the market bias can u pls give us that indi thanks a lot
Mr4x Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 I think Caz trades it on the H1 so I prefer to stick to the original rules. It is up to you whether you want to experiment on other timeframes.
Mr4x Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 Caz please notice that I have edited my post with an update to the Signal indicator. please redownload new indicator.

Acerinvest Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 This is possibly not a question to ask here though it does have relevance to the tools we are using. The MarketBias indicator works on an LWMA set to the period considered. The indicators I prepared simply operate on the logic of the previous MarketBias indicators we have been using but I have been trying to understand better what is going on in order to put together something much better. The multi-period version I prepared earlier was a start but I can do better. What I can't understand, though, is why the indicator first fills an array with the LWMA data and then uses the iMAonArray function to calculate backwards through the data. I did run a test with and without this step and it seemed to make a tiny difference but hardly noticeable. Can anyone elighten me why this step in the calculation is there?
