I had come across a pdf file which was given rar extension. Just to confuse. By appearance, it looked like rar file. But in fact, it was a pdf file. If your situation is like the one explained by me, try to open it with adobe reader. It opens without any problem.

 

If it is indeed exe file, then double click it and see whether you can run it or not.

 

But in any case, do not forget to check with antivirus before doing anything.
