syk1kz
Re: Fapturbo v48 i find FT has a rather large trade time meaning it will open a trade monday and close it the folling tuesday meaning you pay for alot of swap and the trade generally sits in negative 90% of the time, is this just my experience or do you guys also get this? that and it doesnt win very often, i dont like having trades open for days, i like to open and close my trades within a few hours at most and come back tomorrow for some more pips. i generally look for 20pip win to a 40pip loss, so 1 loss = 2 wins [20/40] and i seem to be doing rather well if i am looking for 10 pips i give it a 1:3 ratio [10/30] and 5 pips is generally a 4:1 [5/20] ratio i wont go any higher than 4:1 this may seem backwards to some of you but if you are entering the right trendy trades and are not being greedy trying to make 100pips every day , follow you indicators and rules, then enter you should hopefully not hit a SL very often, but it will happen so remember to only risk what you can afford to loose and dont risk 30% per trade thats jut silly talk

yasenp
Re: Fapturbo v48 I use it on my live account from 24.09.09 and I'm 11% down. I'm not saying it's a bad EA, it's the market that changes. What I'm gonna look for is an EA which is not optimized for few hours of trading each night. I still run it with LRR 1/pair. Elma
Re: Fapturbo v48 @-) Does anyone have experience with the Fap Turbo Expert Guide by Rob Casey? Yup...I'm using his setting for long term EURUSD & scalper but recently the Fapturbo a having bad days... EURUSD setting are just good for trending market...if swing market condition it wont profit... :o As for scalper...currently EURGBP are not recommended to run..with Fap.. But EURCHF hitting SL 4 times in 1mth... & USDCAD hitting SL last week as well... Overall if u still wanna trade with FapTurbo...the only pair is to run USDCAD for time being and demo for other pair until you get confidence before go live :-bd Quote ~Money often costs too much~
Voff
Re: Fapturbo v48 Guys, I can't figure it out, please show me the light... The main problem with Fap & fap clones is the fact that many wanna-be-brokers widen spreads till these EAs become unprofitable, right? Another problem is swaps which can wipe out some profits. So why not to use it on futures, not forex? No swaps, no wide spreads, less margin, more point value. Any ideas?
yasenp
Re: Fapturbo v48 The main problem is that the market is changing, becoming more volatile during asian sessions. You can allways find a broker with good spread but it won't make it win. I hope it's just temporary but no way we can know it 100%. For now i run 3 pairs(excl. gbp/chf) with min risk just to gather information and when see market starts to behave like before i will increase the risk. Anyway, for me fapturbo is history and I wouldn't rely on it for the future. I'll continue using it just to divesify my trading strategies. engtraderfx
Re: Fapturbo v48 Hullo, I finally got to update faptu to v3 with a couple of mods as requested. V3 changes include: 1. Include DST Setting adjustment for Alpari data. Works by reducing manual GMT by 1 hour during certain dates. 2. Logic for "anypair" altered so that 'default' values are used if not a normal fapturbo pair (EurGBP, EURCHF, USDCAD, GBPCHF). Please note the DST setting changes are for Euro session (Alpari) only and the dates are from another posting & are assumed correct. I did a brief check on a GMT website but didn't find any major errors. This was done as an exercise to see if it effects backtesting. A check of EURCHF does show a minor improvement in backtesting but does not removal all stoplosses. If anyone finds an error just let me know & will update. load files from http://www.f0rexsh@ring_com/358627 Please remember, use at own risk & do own backtesting to confirm settings. I can only suggest keep hours short & TP about 4 or 5. My own settings are included as a start & I use at low risk (risk of 1 or 2).
yasenp
Re: Fapturbo v48 After another SL got hit in usd/cad tonight I changed the usd/cad SL to 30, TP - 10. I think the original SL is unnecessary large. Probably there was an explanation before but now - with this movements during night sessions it's mandatory to reduce SL's value from dafaults. I still believe FAP is good but used with the dafault setting it would blow your account. I'm just glad that I let it burn only 10% before reducing LRR to min. engtraderfx
Re: Fapturbo v48 absolutely, should do your own testing to find acceptable sl / tp values to you and keep risk down. I only use fapt for EURCHF currently at risk level 1 to 2 %. I use my own ea's for usdcad & others.

awsl
Re: Fapturbo v48 Could FapTurbo be used on small accounts for example with a 200$ investment? Yes, you need to control the Lot Risk Factor depending on the currency pair. it is best you forward test with a demo account to have a feel of the risk factor. yasenp
Re: Fapturbo v48 Could FapTurbo be used on small accounts for example with a 200$ investment? I personally recommend not using FapTurbo at all. It's not bad robor, problem is that there's no suitable market for it. As you may read in my early posts in real trading it blowed 10% of my account for 10 days. Judge for yourself.

engtraderfx
Re: Fapturbo v48 Fair enough, I thought you wanted to review the past GMT changes. You will need to add new dates as time goes on. That calc isn't hard, is just the number of seconds after 1970 (just check MT4 editor help for time functions to confirm. When I looked at the GMT/DST website I found its not the same day every year so unfortunately you can't just do DST say "every 3rd Friday in March & October" (although it would be a close approximation!). So you have to update the DST code as time progresses. I won't make any more updates, I did that as an exercise to see if it made much difference. From my point of view it was interesting but didn't make a massive difference. As we all know, forward testing is the real acid test! Guest jaet1989
Re: Fapturbo v48 I don't particularly agree with fap being bad, if you do your own testing and find good settings, I believe it has a better strategy than many other EA's out there, the kind of scalping trades I would take manually. engtraderfx
Re: Fapturbo v48 Hi Ansatsu, to calculation the seconds required to a particular date, pull out excel & do the following calculation: Excel dates converted to a number give number of days, so need to convert to seconds. Cell1: 01/01/1970 00:00 Cell 2: NewDate Cell 3: = (cell2 - cell1)*86400 That will give you the seconds required for MT4 from 1970. The ammended code is below, it compiles so hope that helps! Best Regards, Dave int DSTSetting() { /* Calculated DST adjustment. If within DST time, adjustment = 1, else 0. DST adj is subtracted from manual GST setting. ALPARI / EUROPEAN Daylight savings adjustments // time is number of seconds since 00:00 Jan 1 1970 */ double gi_timeCurrent = TimeCurrent(); if(gi_timeCurrent < 941068800) return(0); //1999-10-28 else if(gi_timeCurrent < 972345600) { if(gi_timeCurrent >= 954460800 ) return(0); else if(gi_timeCurrent < 1003708800) { if(gi_timeCurrent >= 985996800 ) return(0); } else if(gi_timeCurrent < 1035763200) { if(gi_timeCurrent >= 1017532800) return(0); } else if(gi_timeCurrent < 1067212800) { if(gi_timeCurrent >= 1049068800) return(0); } else if(gi_timeCurrent < 1098921600) { if(gi_timeCurrent >= 1080691200) return(0); } else if(gi_timeCurrent < 1130284800) { if(gi_timeCurrent >= 1112230800) return(0); } else if(gi_timeCurrent < 1161648000) { if(gi_timeCurrent >= 1143774000) return(0); } else if(gi_timeCurrent < 1193011200) { if(gi_timeCurrent >= 1175310000) return(0); } else if(gi_timeCurrent < 1225065600) { if(gi_timeCurrent >= 1206928800) return(0); } else if(gi_timeCurrent < 1256954400) { if(gi_timeCurrent >= 1238464800) return(0); } // 31/3 and 31/10/2009 2 am else if(gi_timeCurrent >= 1270000800) return(0);} //2010-03-31 02:00 return(1); }

engtraderfx
Re: Fapturbo v48 hi... dll must be activated in settings. Also dll is not required for scalper testing but is required for long term system & you will need the dll saved in appropriate directory on metatrader. The dll is the ft48 version renamed (just look in the code for the name). The dll was included in the original download link.
