Re: F0r3x5hok3r

Hi guys, back again ...

I've decided to establish new settings on my EURCHF :

LONGS and SHORTS : 21-1h GMT+1 German time (standard is 22-24h) Lots = 1.0 at a live account of 1200 EUR (margin is 333.33 EUR then)

quite risky but working. at leverage 1:300 a s/l hit wounds me for 210 EUR... ok for me cause I trust in shokka :)

I once again repeat : after 3 months intense testing and gambling around I have SIMPLIFIED my pairs to the least volatile and "boring" one ... the lovely euro/swiss franc ... all others bully you.

Compare it to the casino. If someone would tell you on THIS roulette table there is a 80%+ chance the number rolls that I give you ... would you play at other tables ? :)

Re: F0r3x5hok3r

I got 4 stoplosses for EURUSD

Also their live account.

@Pipaholic.

Everyday I got : Trade context is busy.

But only 2 or 3 second. I think this is normal.

I got 2 more stoplosses on the EurUSD, it is amazing that this could do so well on the demo and so bad on live

Hopefully it will get better but it is going to take a while to recover the losses.

As long as I don't get anymore.

According to my broker, he says that trade context is busy, is multiple EAs trying to put trades in at the same time.

Are you only using the EurChf with Shocker?

Thanks

According to my broker, he says that trade context is busy, is multiple EAs trying to put trades in at the same time.

Context Busy usually means the EA is trying to place a trade at the exact instant the tick data is coming in.. The data channel between the platform and the server is a one lane bridge.. If the platform tries to talk at the same time the server is sending data then the platform times out..

The platform EA needs to have a routine that tries several times to send data in case of such things happing..

The ea's I write and several I have seen use something like this..

  for(int cnt=1; cnt<=NumberOfTries; cnt++)
     {
        Tic = OrderSend(Symbol(),OP_SELL,Lots,aBid,Slippage,0,0,VersionNumber,MagicNo,0,Red);
        if (Tic > 0)

        {
          // success on sell
          SellFlag=True;
          break;
        }

        // error on sell
        Error = GetLastError();
        if (DebugLogFile) log( "Sell Error Occured - Error: "+Error+" Try#: " +cnt+" "+ ErrorDescription(Error)+ " "+Symbol()+ " "+ Period() );
        if(Error==129) RefreshRates(); // else Busy errors
        Sleep (SleepTime);
     }

This routine will try as many times as NumberOfTries is set to (usually 5)..

this type of routine needs to be on Order Send, Modify, and closures.. 95% of orders will pass on the first try. But I have seen it go up to 4 attempts before completion.. If your EA doesnt do this then you WILL get Contex Busy every now and then...

This has been discussed several times here.. Do a search on Context Busy...

Yes, I do ONLY trade EURCHF in live ... all others get me down :) had 12 trades yday, account +12%. I am thinking about setting a mt4stats account, so that you can see live demo results.

Will let you all know, maybe for the start next week on monday 27th.

Hi,

What time frame do you apply the EA at?

Thanks

well, as I stated above :) 21-01 GMT+1 German time for FAPTurbo, Shokka GeniusV101, 21-08h for XTREME EURCHF (default)

Time on my PC matches exactly Alpari Server Time, so no offsets used here.

Please convert to your timezone individually yourself, cause I don't wanna be responsible for any errors / losses :)

Re: F0r3x5hok3r

Demo will definately perform better than live...

I had 2 trades on both demo and live. They were at the same price.

But the demo closed on a spike down, and live did not.

Got a Trade context is busy error.

Those 2 trades went up and hit the Stoplosses.

While the 2 on my demo made a very good profit.

So far with Shocker on demo I'm up 66% and on live I'm down 20%

Kind of a disappointment.

This on on the broker "The Collective", so far I'm not that impressed.

I'm constantly getting those context is busy errors.

They seem to prevent trades from opening and prevent profitable trades from closing.

It is still early hopefully it will get better.

Re: F0r3x5hok3r

Here are my settings : I do only trade EURCHF !

SHORT : 22-03h GMT+1 (german time) LONGS : 22-06h GMT+1 (german time) (standard is 22-24h)

I even dared to trade 1 lot at my 500 EUR account, and after 7 trading days I have it doubled !

Try to simplify your trading to EURCHF ... for example EURGBP is not working 2009, so aren't any dollar pairs. If you want to go "absolutely" sure, then only trade LONGS on EURCHF, they have a unbelievable hit ratio since April 2009 ! My trader ist Alpari UK.

Skip off all the pairs that are highly volatile. You need calm sea to get your ship in harbour safely ;)

How can you possibly make the same EA go SHORTS between 23-04 GMT and LONGS between 23-07 GMT? Do you open(use) 2 EURCHF charts and select "Only Long" positions or "Only Short" positions" in the Common tab? Interesting idea!!

You wrote that "If you want to go "absolutely" sure, then only trade LONGS on EURCHF, they have unbelievable hit ratio since April 2009!" What is the basis of your claim? Can you elaborate on that, please?

Maybe, the trades have been tagged by broker. Try to remove comment from each trade. Try to use magic number other than the default.

1. Yes, 2 windows for that settings. But I have gone back to more conservative settings, as I decided not to trade after start of the asian session anymore. Btw, UTC timeframe would be 21-02h, you have to substract the GMT offsets.

2. Live testing. My buys have a ratio of 92,4% in FAPTurbo LIVE. Shocker I have since 2 weeks now, but here I have not evaluated yet cause I trade both longs and shorts 21-01h GMT+1.

I will run a demo account on mt4*tats starting this night, and if all goes well you will see the results of 4 different EA's running in 9 windows from tomorrow on. Exact URL to follow ...
