I was stopped out of my trade with Dragonpips at 25pips away from the price on Alpari(UK)! The spread on Alpari(UK) suddenly widen to 25pips, hitting my stoploss, but the price did not move! I wrote to Alpari(UK) on the matter and was told that they just follow what the market spread was because they floated their spreads. So what this means is that if due to liquidity problem in the market and the spread go to 100pips, they can eat your stoploss orders even if the price did not move. From what I hear, they apply some kind of a filter on their live feed. If you take any chart in their demo platform and compare it with live ticks, you can clearly see the differences between the two! icemaneu Posted August 25, 2009 Report Share Posted August 25, 2009 Re: DRAGONPIPS This ea is pretty consistence in making profit on eurchf from GMT 2000hrs to GMT 2200hrs. However, there is 1 problem while running live on Alpari(UK). That is when the spread widen to 30pips suddenly for a few seconds, it stops me out and eat my stoploss order even when the price didn't move. So, I have some suggestions to make this ea even better. I hope someone who can write in mt4 program language can help. 1) make the stoploss in stealth mode. 2) allow us to change the stoploss values 3) make it auto detect GMT offset. (So that when we share our settings, this time setting can be standard) 4) make it such that for stoploss to be activated, the other price must be Xpips near the stoploss order. eg. If I have a sell at 1.3000, my stoploss is... say 25pips away from my sell entry at 1.3025. In order for my stoploss to be activated, the bid price must be at least 5pips away from my stoploss order. That means the bid price must move up to at least 1.3020 in order for my stoploss of 1.3025 to be activated to close with whatever ask price above the bid price. This will prevent brokers who take advantages of the sudden wide spread from the mkt to eat out stoploss orders during those quiet market time when the price didn't even move. Cheers Bud, dont know how I missed it X_X . I've been demoing v2 with good results, what are the main differences with v3. So far just been testing eurchf on fxdd demo acc. 22 thru 1 risk 40.
