little confused, who is reseller you are mentioning about? I know Jhon is not reseller, he works hard to get softwares educated and there were some resellers who were taking his previous unprotected work and made some money reselling.

 

It is not intended for Jhon. Somebody posted a telegram ID to download free indicators. The post was intended for that but that post was deleted. That is why you are confused dear friend.

yeh i feel the same. i see FuturesTrader 71 have it in the background but dont think he trades off it. seems like he uses Bookmap more. maybe cos he makes money off it.

 

To use bookmap, should we need to subscribe for the tick data or the regular snapshot data from the broker house would just do the job fine ?

Does anyone know about RVolume indicator from Big Mike ?

The market profile principles are sound and Alexander's class on it is good, it's just that he makes it sound like the be all and end all of trading, and the fact that he is not successful with it proves it is not.

 

But I've changed my mind about his membership subscription, the guy is like Midas in reverse. If I follow his trades and take the opposite side on all of them, I will do very well. Last week he called 4 trades and got them all wrong so if I'd done the reverse of what he suggested, I could've been up (rather than down) a couple of thousand dollars. :)

 

So if he is not doing well enough realizing his own strategy then how can we, learning the same thing from him is expected to do well ?

It is a very demoralising revelation atleast for me.

He advises his students to avoid having a direction bias and instead "trade what they see," but it seems he cannot do that himself so it's like taking reading lessons from a blind man. @-)

Yes 1 Min data would just fine. But I am not getting it anywhere. I have tried Tickstory. They have free access to historical data of any formet. I downloaded the NinjaTrader format but while importing it, it shows error.

Sorry I forget to mention that. It's for EUR/USD.

Yes I know the discussion was about Amibroker. I just wanted to know if there is a cheaper solution for NinjaTrader also. Because really as you pointed out, TrueData and GFDL is charging very high. But sad till now no cheaper alternative is available as we get for Amibroker.

As suggested you can try to cheaper options as mentioned in one of the threads.

 

To begin with you can try rtquote as it gives trial without any charges others will charge 300 odd bucks for trial. I think these cheaper ones take the tick data and save it into Amibroker at a 1-minute granularity. I'm using the charts with 1-minute database seetings. One can tweak the database settings to ticks and see if the updated quotes are captured as ticks in Amibroker. Believe me these cheaper ones are also good and does the job if you are not a full time trader. GFDL and TrueData are super super expensive.
