1) now the alert should work ok ... at least for me it did :)

2) i changed it so it would look the same on both 4 and 5 digits brokers

ur problem has nothing to do with the file extension because in Advanced Get u can load many types of ASCII files ... so you can change the extension to CSV

if u tried that already and it did not work ... it was because of how the data is written ...

just open a PRN files with a text editor and look at the dates

you will see they are sequential ... they is not weekend gap between them ... i think this was the tweak the first creator of this indicator found to make the ASCII files work in advanced get.

The standard alert issues multiple consecutive alerts in the same direction, many of them only a minute or two apart. That would drive you crazy!

 

Can you please replace it with an alert that ONLY issues when a new dot appears (signaling a reversal)? It would be much appreciated! Like Favoured111, I think these dots have real potential...

 

PS please make sure the alert mentions the currency that the alert is signaling, as you did before. THANX!

From what i understand the dot for the current bar repaints (it may appear and disappear during the completion of the bar) .. right?

if that is the case then that is why the Alert appears several times for the same dot

i would attach it to the lowest timesframe u use (M15 for ex) because then u can set the Live option to TRUE and that means the indicator will rewrite the data on every new bar created on that timeframe

the Pair option is a blank string by default and that means it will write data for the current Symbol

u can set it to GBPUSD and that means that the indicator will write the data for GBPUSD instead of the Chart Symbol

that's about it :)
