1. Re: REQ: forex derivative EA

    yes ive had them all open. but on 3 accounts, same broker, on same computer. only occasionally does it open the same 3 positions at the same time.

    very strange.

    Norman and tom, could you share which broker you are testing with? I am currently using Alpari.

    Just like tom's case, my 2 floating orders has been moving up and down without any actions from the EA.

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Collin

  2. Re: REQ: forex derivative EA

    I wonder why 4xProject gets so many trades executed and the results are totally different from mine (only 6 trades). The difference in datafeed between Alpari & FX Clearing would not make that big deal. Anyone has other forward test result?

    I am using Alpari demo but I only have GBPUSD (1 trade) and EURUSD trades (3 trades), none for AU nor CAD. So far all EURUSD exited with positve pips, but GBPUSD is still floating. I am equally surprised with 4xProject's results as well.

    Regards,

    Collin

    Anyone has any new opening in their trades since yesterday? My 2 floating trades EURUSD and GBPSUSD still remain, but has finally turned into positve equity. So far no trades in USDCAD and AUDUSD, kind of strange. Does anyone has new trades in either USDCAD or AUDUSD?

    Regards,

    Collin

  3. Re: REQ: forex derivative EA

    For those who has purchase from the author, v1.3 is now available for download. This new version has the ability to support ECN brokers.

    not more then 6 posts above.

    Norman, sorry if I miss out something here. What is it that you are refering to?

  5. Re: REQ: forex derivative EA

    I did not download the data from Alpari database but use the Tools/History Center feature of MT4 (that's why the data quality is only 25%. The Alpari data server is currently down so we cannot download extended M1 data). I think maybe you are using version 1 instead of v1.1 or 1.2 of the EA. They have updated the EA so the "educated" is only v1. The version 1.2 is somewhere in this thread.

    You also tested only till 28Nov but the gain since then till the end of 2008 is minimal. Otherwise, overall the results are much the same (i thought you meant yours is much worse, but as the data quality is only 25%, the results sometimes vary by a small margin.)

    BTW, the EA just had a small win with GU (9 pips) on a 3pip spread broker (FX Clearing), but nothing on a 4-pip GoTrader.

    Thanks for reminding me about this. You are right about the version update that causes different results. I have earlier made a purchase from the aurthor and my testing confirm the same results from 2007 to 2009 as compared to the official website results. But the 2005 ended out with negative equity while 2006 has a small gain of 10%. I also realised that testing with Metaquotes data (download direct from the "Tools/History Center/Download" button" yield a much better results than Alpari. This is something that I did not realise initially until now. Something good to learn about.

  6. Re: REQ: forex derivative EA

    Collin, there is nothing special with my backtest process (I think) but I just realised that my data quality is only 25%, so I will get the correct data and test again.

    I believe 25% modelling is as far as we get, since I am getting this value as well. Thanks sgteo for the clarifications.

    Can I confirm with you on your databank? It seems that you are using FXClearing. I have downloaded a copy of it but FXClearing does not provide the historical data dating back to 2008. Other than this, I am not sure if I miss out anything else. The parameters used are same as the original educated ex4, except hedging which is changed to 'true'. I am currently using v224 MT4 for the test.

    Norman, are you also using Alpari data platform for the testing? Can you also shed some light on your testing procedures?

    forexample, I am using Alpari MT4 platform and the databank provided by Alpari. I just test using the dll and the educated ex4 provided. Additoinal steps include converting the M1 data to M5, M15, M30, M60, M240 and D1 (or 1440). Ensure the "Allow DLL imports" and "Allow external experts import" are ticked (under Options->Expert Advisors).

    I am attaching the 2008 backtest results. Strangely this is the 4th attempt I am doing but the results are still the same. Can any parties help to provide some guidance on this?

    Thanks again for all the help.

    Back test result for EU 2008, with hedging, using the "educated" version and dll.

    http://www.4shared.com/file/109039845/76bba4e9/FD_backtest.html

    good result, though sometimes it let a good profit (>100pips) turns to loss.

    Hi clovely,

    Despite serveral attempt for the backtesting, I am still unable to produce the results that you provide. Fact is my results are a far cry from the offical backtest shown in the offical website. Would you be kind enough to shed some light on your backtest process? I am currently using Alpari databank.

    Has anyone able to produce a similar result for all the years 2006 to 2009 shown in the website? Appreicate any feedback.

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Collin

  8. Re: REQ: forex derivative EA

    According to the user guide, it mentions backtesting with spread less than 2 pips for EURUSD and 3 pips for GBPUSD, USDCAD and AUDUSD, otherwise the performance will be affected. Anyone knows of brokers that meet these specifications (besides the ECN)?

    The EA also permits hedging, but the manual does mention it is for non-US brokers. I think this is another point to consider when looking for a broker.

    Regards,

    Collin

  9. Re: Intellectual EA - Great Backtest, doesn't seem to run live

    good to see you getting some good initial results.

    have u left the settings as default? or have u changed them?

    No, i have made some changed. Use TF 5M

    Lots=1.00000000

    LotsPercent=10

    GMT=2

    StartSession1=0

    EndSession1=4

    StartSession2=20

    EndSession2=24

    TakeProfit=7

    StopLoss=18

    MinProfitValue=5

    Thanks to both warman and profdixi for the files.

    Copy warman, I don't seems to be able to get the symbols as you mention above in the mq4. Could it be in another file instead?

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Collin

  10. Re: Intellectual EA - Great Backtest, doesn't seem to run live

    Hi Warman

    Intellectual-Pro-EURGBP_m15_v4.2

    or

    IP_EURGBP(m15)v4.2

    Thanks

    I am using Intellectual-Pro-EURGBP_m15_v4.2.

    Modifyed it in MetaEditor

    Thanks.

    Hi bro warman,

    Do you think you could share the Intellectual-Pro-EURGBP_m15_v4.2.mq4 file? I don't seems to have it.

    Thanks.

  11. Re: Intellectual EA - Great Backtest, doesn't seem to run live

    Hi.. Bro Collinsmith,

    Need help to fix the Expert I cannot backtest, the expert stopped. I got some error in bactest journal.

    14:08:11 XtremeEURGBPv2 inputs: Lots=1; LotsPercent=10; GMT=2;

    14:08:11 2009.04.01 00:00 Intellectual-Pro-EURGBP(m15),M15: 00:00:00 : Initial

    14:08:11 2009.04.01 00:00 Intellectual-Pro-EURGBP(m15),M15: dll calls are not allowed; 'Scalper.dll'-'CalcArr'

    Thanks before.

    Hi bro warman,

    This ea needs the dll to execute the order, so under Tools->Options, choose Expert Advisors tab. Check on the following:

    1. Enable Expert Advisor

    2. Allow live trading (uncheck Ask manual confirmation)

    3. Allow DLL import (uncheck Confirm DLL function calls)

    4. Allow external experts imports

    Hope the information helps.

    Regards,

    Collin

  12. Re: Intellectual EA - Great Backtest, doesn't seem to run live

    Thanks for the carigold website. The information definitely helps, and I made a small adjustment to the codes. This morning there are some trades taken. Only problems I have is the time. Should it be allways GMT+1? What about daylight saving? Anyone has the user manual/guide to share?

    Also, I read somewhere that this software will only take trades with very small spread. Hence MaxSpread is set to the Broker Spread + 1.

  13. Re: My custom trading system-STEALTH Based

    Hello tek1972,

    Thks for your kindnesss and generousity. I saw this EA some days back and started doing the forward test now. Just a few questions to seek your advice:

    1. There is no TF indications. Can I assume it is for 15min?

    2. There is no SL and TP. Should the order be closed manually?

    3. I saw 2 similar files named OStealth LCD v2 Histogram and OStealth BuySell V2 Histogram. Couldn't find this in the original Stealth software. Are they specially custom made for your EA in this case?

    Thanks again for your advice. Your kindness will definitely benefit all of us.

    Regards,

    Collin

  14. Re: Need to convert ea to trade 5 digits

    Hi Collin

    Have tested it but unfortunately it does not place any trades

    Best rgds

    Hello fxwealth,

    I checked the codes and it has the following information:

    1. This code only works in demo, not live account (not unless the demo statements are removed).

    2. The execution will only start after 12hrs server time (TimeToStartTrade - this value can be changed by user).

    If your EA starts before 12, I think it will not place any trade.

    Regards,

    Collin

  15. Re: [ Help Req] Please Help with this Pending Orders Code

    Hi progressapama,

    I did some thorough reading on your code but was unable to find the cause of problem. One possible reason could be errors from the return values of the customized functions or the MT4's functions. Suggestions:

    1. Print out the variables values such as ParentTicket, PendingTicket and compared with the expected values during the forward test.

    2. Print out the system errors for MT4's functions such as OrderSelect using the recommended GetLastError() and ErrorDescription() functions from MT4 documentations. This can be found in

    h**p://docs.mql4.com/constants/errors

    Hope this information helps.

    Regards,

    Collin

  16. Re: Instant Trend Spotter and Gomega system

    Does anyone have the 'ForexProfitPro.dll files Thanks

    http://www.4shared.com/file/73720344/6c554d6d/forexprofitpro.html

    Thanks mashki for the files, but I think the ea filename contains in the zip indicates as gomega162, which I believe is not version 2.x. The new version 2.x is able to do autotrading, and according to the website this version 1.x is only able to do semi autotrading.

    Shawnh, if I understand correctly, this ForexProfitPro is the earlier version of GOmega. Latest version is GOmega version 2.x, which was just released last Decemeber.

    Regards,

    Collin

  17. Re: [ASK] VPS

    Hello gososay,

    I have used the VPS from Commerical Network Services (CNS) over a number of months. Cost slightly more as compared to some other VPS, but it has never given me any problems before. CNS has both Windows and Linux versions. Details on service plans can be found in:

    h**p://commercialnetworkservices.com/VPS/Windows/Traders/TradersPlans.html

    Just to clarify my stand, I am not related to CNS in any way, except as an end user.

    Regards,

    Collin
