lululee
honestly, I do not see anything special in the new version of NinjaTrader. too much expectation for as little innovation :-O Me too...I only like multi threading capability. They said 500 new features thou. In my view education will still exist with "Emulators" . I may be wrong. Darktrader

lululee
can someone tell me why we are not looking into Metatrader4 or Metatrader5.. There is huge community behind Metatrader .. thousands or EAs and Robots :).

k33
What about Metatrader4 or Metatrader5....lots of free stuff is available for those too and they are lot more popular ????? You wouldn´t want it because these Metatrader brokers mostly offer no regulated access to the exchanges but a speculation "on" the real prices (activtrades might be one of the more serious, though). There were plugins available to hinder traders to be profitable. Most metaquotes brokers don´t hedge or hedge only partially, they earn on the losses and there is (more) conflict in interest (this is why they go for beginnes with much financial effort, 50$ for a click on google ads etc..). Experienced that also with GFT, once i earned some money on even a very, very small account i got slippage, manipulated feed and software/computer blackouts/hangs.. It is difficult enough to earn money consistantly, with bucket shops nearly impossible, just my 2ct.. indo37
Omnitrader? Really? Used that some 15 years ago, was rubbish, they always touted next version to be without mistakes, ..... Read the old hands commentary from 5 to 10 years ago, when OT tried to be a big player and their software had every bells and whistles you could think off.. it never worked out! Most of the time their improvements were just optical nature, but all the time it was also increasing and improving their copy protection scheme!!! Amibroker is slim, fast, can do everything including proper backtesting and trading and Mont Carlo and Excel, R and you name it connectivity. Its cheap but wors like a charm. Get Bandy`s book... Don`t waste your time with OT or NT or even TS (aside from still good TS2000i). Just my 2 cents Edited May 18, 2015 by indo37

But K33, I know Big brokers like FXCM etc... also support MT4/MT5 ....you think they also take advantage of this and give manupulated feeds ???? k33
I don´t know FXCM personally, they might also be one of the more serious Metatrader brokers. If you want serious volume analysis, there is none with Metatrader, just tick volume, as far as i know at this time. I would always look out how the fills are when you are profitable and how prices differ from cash/futures exchanges, what price spikes for extra personalized stop fishing or if price is running always against your position initially, no matter what the real markets do. When there is something odd like datafeed disconnects or platform issues always when you are in a winning position that you could capitalize, you know they need your money. k33
I would also opt to use and compare different futurefeeds and maybe also the underlyings in cash or intebankmarkets for latency and fills.. ⭐ laser1000it

CashManic
Hi Guy Sorry to interrupt NT discussion. If any of you have use Amibroker before, do post your comment in this thread, http://indo-investasi.com/showthread.php/2625-Amibroker?highlight=amibroker+compare Myself like to know the limitation of Amibroker compare to other platforms. Thank Hi learningfx. As some have already said on this thread, Amibroker is not too bad as an entry level platform. In fact their new version 5.90 features a new Multi-Threaded Analysis module. Go here https://www.amibroker.com/ and download their free 30 day Trial release. Also, you can test with these couple of Amibroker indicators, some commercial. AmibrokerAFL.zip (6.56MB) https://www.sendspace.com/file/n6u0rp As for Amibroker indicators,I believe there's a wide selection of free indicators on the net.Check out these sites. http://www.amibroker.com/library/list.php http://www.amibroker.org/3rdparty/ Give it a shot. With Ninjatrader is all free.
⭐ laser1000it
I've found this plug in (Metatrader4 to Amiboker) https://www.sendspace.com/file/q8btal but in Amibroker Data Setting > Data Source I don't see the Metatrder Data plug-in (see pdf point 6).
