Total new commercial vehicle registrations increased 7.7 percent on an annual basis to 162,901 units in October, faster than September's 4.5 percent growth. In August, the rate of growth was 3 percent. The demand for commercial vehicles has been on the rise in the European Market since March. Sales of commercial vehicles in France grew 7.8 percent year-on-year, while sales in Germany moved up 7.2 percent in October. There was an 11.1 percent annual growth in new registrations in the U.K. Demand for new light commercial vehicles rose 5.8 percent on an annual basis in October, following the previous month's 3.3 percent growth. New registrations of medium and heavy commercial vehicles rose 15.7 percent, faster than the 13 percent growth seen in September. At the same time, the increase in heavy commercial vehicle registrations quickened to 18.2 percent from 16.6 percent during the month. In the January-October period, total commercial vehicle sales climbed 10.8 percent from the corresponding period last year, the agency said.
