Yes...unfortunately Ganntrader works only in Dos mode.

The program is written in DOS. It is not very easy to use, it is very old. It runs until windows xp. In other versions it is necessary to use a suitable software to virtualize in DOs environment. However, it produces excellent graphs in scales on condition of having an old printer (out of production) and having a "Lpt" type pc port. Without this port the program can not print unless you virtualize the ports: I have tried several print programs for old DOS programs and I have not succeeded.

If someone succeeds in obtaining a print from Ganntrader 3, even in pdf format, let it come alive ..:((:((

Thanks Laser, I also tried that program (also others) in an old version but I could not print a chart. I will try the latest version.

Now, I can not remember but with a similar program, specific for dos programs that converts the lpt port into a usb port, my printer traced some discolored lines and then moved the cart to "empty". I never managed to print anything.

Grazie Laser , ho provato anche quel programma (anche altri) in una vecchia versione ma non sono riuscito a stampare un grafico. Proverò l'ultima versione .

Ora, non mi ricordo ma con un programma simile, specifico per programmi dos che converte la porta lpt in porta usb, la mia stampante tracciava qualche linea scolorita e poi muoveva il carrello a "vuoto". Non sono mai riuscito a stampare niente.

You need activate HYper-V in your Windows 10 64 bit.....you will install XP SO or better (if you can find it) Windows 98.

 

Anyway once you have done everything I don't know what this software will give you. The software could show you some things and a followers of Gann see others.

Try using one of these S.o. (even with Virtualbox or Vmware... ecc..)

- It also works with windows 7 32 bit

 

Using only DOSbox the program opens but fails to access the historical data folder (in metastock format). I could not access the data.

The procedure is:

-Install Gann trader (in the C: \ folder)

-Install DOSbox (maybe the EmuCR-Dosbox-r4162 version is better)

- Start the emulator

-to type :

 

mount c c:\GANN31

c:\

dir

gann.exe

 

The program starts, but the problems of accessing the data folder remain. To print you can try the "Printfil" program (port Lpt1 to usb). I've never succeeded .. someone can help ..
