I get my data from CQG for free because I have an account with AMP and the data is very good. I have all the indicators I need on ninja which is a free platform . Ninja does not take computer resources so much as tradestation which consumes huge amount of ram and used to have at least in the past memory leakage which forced you to restart every few days. I am very happy and not going back. The graphics is much better in ninja, its similar to esignal . But the most important thing is the new renko spectrum bars by rjs which are just amazing which no other platform carries- at least not ts or esignal or market delta. NinjaTrader blows MT4/MT5 away big time. I tried TradeStation a few years ago as a test but couldn't find a good trading system to go along with it. You mentioned something in your post which is rarely, rarely discussed on this forum and that is the need for a computer/laptop that has the resources (memory, size, rams, etc) to trade the forex. I'm surprised as to the number of new traders that have the bare minimum computer to trade effectively. If a trader wants to be successful, one of the tools they need is a fully functional computer that can be operated without any issues. If a person can't afford a reliable and fully functional computer, they are not ready to be a trader. Another issue is the speed of the internet needed to trade and the vast majority of members here don't have reliable internet speed but that is another story.
