StockJock Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 The EOD trading platforms require that the data be downloaded to a folder for the platform to import it and I found that one of the more flexible FREE data download programs is QuoteDownloader. I can format the data in both CSV, MetaStock and other formats. However, it has an expiration after a limited use time. It would benefit us members who use EOD data if someone would find a way to remove that limitation. http://www.quotedownloader.com/ If anyone else knows of any other free data downloader for both CSV or MetaStock formats, please reply.

danhoyda Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 hey mig can you add me on skype, danhoyda, i am having trouble getting the ML downloader to work everytime I try to load the exported files into metastock they dont plot anything and the only hint is when I see the file in the directory. Is this a virus or is my virus protection being over protective?

I don't think there's any Yahoo/Google quote downloader that retrieves historical data. If you find one, please let us in the forum know about it. If you miss a day, you can't get the data through these downloaders. I think Yahoo lets you manually down load data from its website. The RTQ downloader downloads current intraday delayed Yahoo quotes only with no intraday historical data; while the ML downloader downloads EOD historical data only. If you want RTQ downloader to download real time data, you need to subscribe to Yahoo Real Time data. Yahoo Groups has a forum that discusses Yahoo real time data using ManshiRT. ManshiRT · Manshi Real Time Data Feed http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/ManshiRT/ This might be another posibility for you. I tried that a while ago, but I think he's asking about backfilling intraday data. I think its also called IEOD.
