flover
Hi I have MetaTrader 4 installed on my laptop which runs Windows 7, Home Premium 64-bit version. Whenever I install MetaTrader it crashes after some time without no evident reason. Sometimes it happens after installing a new indicator or EA but many other times it simply occurs without any reason at all. Every time it occurs it gives me this erroe message: There has been a critical error Time : 2011.02.15 11:05 Program : Client Terminal Version : 4.00 (build: 229, 16 Nov 2010) OS : Windows Vista Professional 6.1 (Build 7600) Processors : 8 x X86 (level 6) Memory : 4194303/4194303 kb Exception : C0000005 Address : 004B8A73 Access Type : read Access Addr : 00000000 Registers : EAX=00000000 CS=0023 EIP=004B8A73 EFLGS=00010246 : EBX=039B02C8 SS=002b ESP=00186DD4 EBP=00000000 : ECX=02DEF6E8 DS=002b ESI=00000000 FS=0053 : EDX=00000000 ES=002b EDI=02EA960C GS=002b Stack Trace : 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 : 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 : 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 : 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 Modules : 1 : 00400000 0055C000 c:\program files (x86)\metatrader - alpari\terminal.exe 2 : 6D580000 0001A000 c:\progra~2\kasper~1\kasper~2\mzvkbd3.dll 3 : 6D6B0000 00012000 c:\progra~2\kasper~1\kasper~2\sbhook.dll 4 : 71A00000 00013000 c:\windows\system32\dwmapi.dll 5 : 722F0000 00080000 c:\windows\system32\uxtheme.dll 6 : 724E0000 00032000 c:\windows\system32\winmm.dll 7 : 734A0000 0000E000 c:\windows\system32\rpcrtremote.dll 8 : 735F0000 0003B000 c:\windows\system32\rsaenh.dll 9 : 736E0000 00016000 c:\windows\system32\cryptsp.dll 10 : 73710000 0019E000 c:\windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.7600.16661_none_420fe3fa2b8113bd\comctl32.dll 11 : 74550000 0011C000 c:\windows\system32\mfc42.dll 12 : 746C0000 00038000 c:\windows\system32\odbcint.dll 13 : 74700000 0008C000 c:\windows\system32\odbc32.dll 14 : 74AB0000 00005000 c:\windows\system32\msimg32.dll 15 : 75120000 0000C000 c:\windows\syswow64\cryptbase.dll 16 : 75130000 00060000 c:\windows\syswow64\sspicli.dll 17 : 75190000 0000A000 c:\windows\syswow64\lpk.dll 18 : 751A0000 0009D000 c:\windows\syswow64\usp10.dll 19 : 75240000 00083000 c:\windows\syswow64\clbcatq.dll 20 : 752D0000 00006000 c:\windows\syswow64\nsi.dll 21 : 752E0000 000F0000 c:\windows\syswow64\rpcrt4.dll 22 : 75400000 00046000 c:\windows\syswow64\kernelbase.dll 23 : 75450000 0008F000 c:\windows\syswow64\oleaut32.dll 24 : 75620000 00C49000 c:\windows\syswow64\shell32.dll 25 : 76270000 000AC000 c:\windows\syswow64\msvcrt.dll 26 : 76320000 00100000 c:\windows\syswow64\kernel32.dll 27 : 76440000 00005000 c:\windows\syswow64\psapi.dll 28 : 764A0000 000CC000 c:\windows\syswow64\msctf.dll 29 : 76580000 00060000 c:\windows\system32\imm32.dll 30 : 765E0000 0007B000 c:\windows\syswow64\comdlg32.dll 31 : 76A00000 00019000 c:\windows\syswow64\sechost.dll 32 : 76A80000 00100000 c:\windows\syswow64\user32.dll 33 : 76B80000 00090000 c:\windows\syswow64\gdi32.dll 34 : 76C40000 0015C000 c:\windows\syswow64\ole32.dll 35 : 76FF0000 000A0000 c:\windows\syswow64\advapi32.dll 36 : 77120000 00057000 c:\windows\syswow64\shlwapi.dll 37 : 77180000 00035000 c:\windows\syswow64\ws2_32.dll 38 : 775C0000 00180000 c:\windows\syswow64\ntdll.dll Call stack : I have tried some methods including the omission of newly added indicators or EAs without success. ⭐ Gambler67
I am running windows 7 pro and run 2 terminals of mt4 at same time with no problem. Maybe Home premium has a problem or maybe if you are using a ssd especially a cheap one. Does your computer give you an option for running the mt4 on a 32bit or Win XP? Whats a SSD? and yes it gives me the option to run it under compatibility mode but its no use either... There are times when it lasts more than a month and just when I think everything is alright this time... BOOM... it crashes again without any reason.... It makes the computer much more faster. If you do not know what it is, you might not have it. Maybe home premium is the problem, or you have too many indicators running at the same time, including the EA. it is better to close the charts you are not using, and only keep open waht you need. The indicators might be sucking up the RAM if you only have 2GB. Might be worth increasing RAM also. It could be one of the issues also if not home premium. Hope that helps. good luck. flover

My laptop has 6 GB of RAM already, the problem is that MT4 doesn't open and gives me this error message whenever I click its icon to start... shabz
When you loaded MT4 onto windows 7 for the first time, did you load it where Mt suggests in C:\program files (x86) ? I would uninstall the installation and re-install straight into the C:\ (change it to this). From here you will find it will run better and also you will be able to use metateditor without issues. I think MT4 was designed to run in Xp, not windows 7. The location of MT4 in your drive will make the difference.
