Just wondering. For the account that you put up on myfxbook, did you leave everything on default besides the risk? Or did you change the start/end hours? Because the history shows that it opens trades 2-5 pm, which is 3 hours compared to the 21-23 hours on default.

All default, except the risk. Broker timezone GMT+1. The close times can be anytime, just check the open times.

Sum (live) = +18,52 pips

 

As you can see there is a huge difference between them. I didn't get any requotes so it all goes to slippage, worse spreads and probably price manipulation (data filtering). I hoped I've finally found non manipulative broker but I guess the quest goes on. I'll stay with them for a month and then make a decision to stay or close the account. In a meanwhile I'll post my daily trading results ;)

Try JadeFX, they have good spreads and it is STP broker.

After experimenting with some of the new features... it doesn't look as if they will help trading much.

I'll keep experimenting and wait for everyone else's input.

I made some changes on broker selection. 6 demo accounts (FxPro, FX Clearing, NordMarkets, UWC, JadeFX, ForexMeta). bbr v0.7. Pair-Logic: EURCHF-3, EURGBP-3, USDCHF-4, GBPUSD-4, EURUSD-3, USDCAD-2, GBPCHF-4 (NordMarkets don't have GC on mini). RiskLevel: 0.1, Recovery mode ON.

 

I don't know if all this will help at the end, since there could be such a big difference between demo and live accounts... Somebody uses some of these brokers on live accounts?

Here are my live results for the past week. As you can see not a good week but over all still in profit even though it was a small one. This is trading sometimes you win sometimes you loose nothing will win all the time. I played with the lots but decided to leave them at .1 for a few more weeks.

 

I have 2 versions of megadroid running on 1 live account and 1 demo all had a bad week but all finished in profit.

 

This account had Dons pro pro2 etc on it but it crashed so it now has bbr_v11, demo still has Don's version trading .2 lots same pairs and logic for a profit of $44.49

Hi outcast,

In my thorough testing I have found that you should always ditch any JPYs pair as these are trading in the Asian session so very vulnerable to news etc

 

It would be like trading all the USD pairs during the open of the US session, very very risky

 

Looking at your results, if you had done the same you would have profited last week nicely

 

I am adding to my live account next week the following pairs

I had planned to drop the JPY pairs for the reason that you said.

 

This is the logic I am trading similar to yours. Can I ask have you tested logic 3 on the EURCHF and did you have good results. I am also testing AUDUSD 2 and NZDUSD 4 although they trade in the asian session as well but not as voliatile

I've put in demo account MDP XE 1.2 but i've a probleme with trades.

I'm on Alpari UK (GMT+2 actually) and he open trade yesterday at 15:00 GMT..

 

I will it open trade between 19:00 and 23:00 GMT and between 01:00 and 05:00 GMT. So in settings i've put GMT-2, GMT+4 and GMT +6 to true but it's not good !

 

What's the problem and the rights settings ?

Actually, with XE v1.2, I'd set the ForceClose default value to 6, rather than 8. Breakouts in the traded pairs usually happen much earlier than the 8am London open.

 

I've been backtesting the ForceClose feature of the new XE v1.2 but it does not seem to be closing trades at the time specified.

Is anyone else having problems with this?

Hey everybody.

 

I'd be really careful using XE1.2 live because of the number of code changes that had to be done to squeeze the mods in. So far, I've found that the mods haven't really helped trading very much (in overall profitability)

and that all of you are better off using the standard bbrv11 on live accounts.

 

I think that MAYBE the problem with advanced droid tactics times in XE1.2, is that they don't take Recovery mode into account.

It is entirely possible that, during the course of one day, that all three time periods take losses, and if recovery mode is switched on, your account can take some heavy damage! XE will not be able to tell the difference between each time-chart's recovery mode status. If you want to run true ADT, then you are probably better off running seperate charts (unless someone wants to code recovery mode as applicable to every extra timeframe!)

 

That said, if anyone notices that XE1.2 isn't doing what it's supposed to, then we'll have a look at the code. I lifted it from the fxharvest mod and renamed all the variables to match those in MDPro. Hopefully I haven't made any mistakes, but more eyes on the code might help us find them if there are any in there.

TDFX spread for NZDUSD is 5, so I'm wondering if you (or anyone) had tried it out as a replacement for the volatile JPY pairs.

EA has been modified so we can trade pairs regardless of spead. Here are Don's instructions:

 

" Spread limit can be freely changed

Some broker has higher night spreads at some pairs, therefore MegaDroid

often sent out the message: "Safe spread limit exceeded"

Therefore there is a new variable called MaxSpread.

If MaxSpread set to 0 (zero), then MegaDroid's default built-in

spread limits are used.

If MaxSpread set to other number, then that number will be used as the new

"Safe spread limit". If you're on 5 digit broker, then multiply it by 10!

 

You can set MaxSpread to -1 (minus one). This tells MegaDroidPro to set

the maximum allowed spread to the currency's actual highest spread.

This way you don't have to guess what is the correct value. This setting is

actually disabling the spread limit protection! (See Warning!)

 

Example: you want to trade GBP/JPY, but its spread is 7 / 10 (day/night).

Set MaxSpread to 10 (night spread) if you're on 4 digit broker.

Set MaxSpread to 100 if you're on 5 digit broker!

Set MaxSpread to -1 and spread limit protection will be disabled..."

I have a problem with backtesting, In MD manual, it says to use GMT+1 for Alpari, while it is GMT+2. Is there any special reason for that, plus when I run the backtest with GMT+1, the trades are not similar to real demo trades???????? I use autoGMT for demo account.
