Re: (sharing) Victory EA - nice performance!

Hi,

I have followed with interest this thread that I started on Victory and I am very excited about the upgrades that you guys are doing. The backtests look very exciting as well. I can only say that personally I made good profit with this EA and I would use it with great confidence in a snap over any other EA that I have come across including the ones posted here.

While most traders on this forum concentrate on finding that ultimate EA that makes great profit, this EA with proper optimization will provide great results. I hope we can stay focused on it to improve it and optimize it and that everyone interested will start some forward testing on the pairs that it trades.

Please post the latest version along with the preset you used to generate the backtests when you are ready to release them. Very much appreciate your efforts.

Best Trading

Guys I am back..

EURJPY... 36Hours optimised - SIG - Mar09 - May09

no loss

Very good job SGTEO....need patience to optimized..

Yeeaah! Beware of curve fitting with optimization though. History results can't guarantee future profits ;)

I don't know how sgteo makes opts, I would ran it for 2008, then separately for Jan-April 2009, and after that developed results would be testes on May-today to emulate forward test.

If I would plan to run it on real, I would test it also on single month periods of 2009 to see what was happening if I would start that month from the beginning of my account.

Would be interesting to see 2 graphs together - opted results and emulated forward testing on last month-month and a half )

Re: (sharing) Victory EA - nice performance!

Starting... you are absolutely right...

This is how I did for the opt.. I run it from Mar09 to May09.. use the best settings.. run again from Mar09 to Jun09..

Then I try out the settings on MQ4data - Jan09 to Jun09..

Hmm... judge for yourself.. I have yet do an analysis on the BT opt results.. will do in the weekends.. perhaps..

This weekend I will take the consistent pairs and do opt BT on MQ4data

a)from Jan09 to Mar09.. then emulate from Feb09 to April09..

b)from Feb09 to April09 then emulate from Mar09 to May09

c)from Mar09 to May09 then emulate from April to Jun09

and see how the results be.. :D

Good, nice approach :) Look forward to see your "final outcome" when ready, mate!

Re: (sharing) Victory EA - nice performance!

hi all.. my desktop MT4 crashed when I use MQ4data for backtest.. this temporary stop me from doing any opt.. :( hope I can get it to up and running by weekend..

Hi Sgteo,

Why not just focus on using Alpari data for now unless you mind using 3/5 decimals? Mq4 data is known for missing bars, spikes, gaps etc. Just a suggestion and thank you for doing this.

Finimej..

I am using the following version.. The BT is still running on GBPCHF.. USDCAD

An improved and fully optimisable version by me, just call it 2.00e,

along with a .set file for optimisation. Although this EA is good

it's drawback is the params maybe overtuned to specific market

behaviour, so be careful.
