Stormin_Norman Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Re: [REQ]Primus 1.2 EA i am thinking my error was caused only at the beginning because there was no further back data being entered into the indicator, causing it to produce an error. it seems to be running fine on backtest once past that. mxadam Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Re: [REQ]Primus 1.2 EA Hi all, Anyone know why this is so damn slow to backtest? Btw: Tried it on eurusd m5 all day and still does well, will give an update when backtest ends if computer doesnt keep crashing :x Quote
dabiz Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Re: [REQ]Primus 1.2 EA those settings are broker time. what they are meant to be i do not know. I see it displays the broker time but i think there is nothing that autodetects broker gmt settings on this ea so we need to change start and end hour from the inputs to make it work ok in our broker, for ex. fxpro is gmt +3 so we need to change the hours to 23 and 3; not the default ones because tadewulf is gmt+2 Quote
thesecret Posted May 19, 2009 Author Report Posted May 19, 2009 Re: [REQ]Primus 1.2 EA Time in EA settings is GMT by default. So if your broker is GMT+2 u set 24-4 in EA. Quote

Btw: Tried it on eurusd m5 all day and still does well, will give an update when backtest ends if computer doesnt keep crashing :x cause its calling the code in the .dll i crashed my computer badly (on windows7 too! first time!) trying to do two back tests at the same time. OK Thanks. Don't know of a decent broker with ok spreads on this pair at this time. May be a good one to keep on the shelf for when spreads come back down. Quote
⭐ fxknight Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Re: [REQ]Primus 1.2 EA This is definitely one of the best performing and balanced (reward/risk) EURGBP EAs. However from running backtests especially for last 3 month, I see that it is not so profitable. Many losses in a row (larger) followed in between by small winners.. looks very familiar doesn't it? Maybe the Silver or Gold version would perform better.. we should search for these just to have few runs and see how much better they can perform. Quote

I personally would not risk real $$ on this unless we can find a way to better control its losses. Quote
