chankl78
Re: DRAGONPIPS Quiksilver, Hi, I think there is some calculation errors in the Auto GMT. My jadefx is 7 or -7 GMT in the auto calculation (Sorry cannot remember got - sign or not. But it is confirm a 7). But my jadefx is only +1. So i change it to a manual GMT. Also, is there a way to put in a blue rectangle box on the chart on the start & end hour we trade? (Just asking but if can do it, it will be nice) Thanks. chankl78
Re: DRAGONPIPS Iceman777, It is a hugh spike. But, my Jade Live using Quicksilver version survive. The V4 i use, 2 trades is still hanging in the air. How is yr 2 trades yesterday? Did it close in profits? Thanks.
Iceman777
Re: DRAGONPIPS One did, the other hung in there (around 10 pips away from opening price) for around 24 hours (over night) but closed out to loss due to that huge spike But, I am not concerned, you can see in backtesting it will lose from time to time but overall stays quite profitable. I had my live account today this week alone go from $5300 to $5960 but now back to $1490 due to that spike If the spike had gone one pip less, it would not have closed out for a loss as it came back and would have closed another profitable trade and I would be up to around $6200 by now. Oh well, thats trading for you Time to build this up again
Iceman777
Re: DRAGONPIPS Sorry, my mistake, I mean my account is now back to $4940 not $1490!!! lost $1k from that spike
Iceman777
Re: DRAGONPIPS I know my risk is high but backtesting continues to show high profits and until I start to lose more than what I started with for the previous week I will keep this up My live account over 14 weeks has averaged 19.6% per week, so happy with this As I make more will start to tune down the risk, if i start to go backwards will also tune down risk and try to work out why and make the necessary changes whatever the risk is, it wont make you win more trades, if your losing consistantly then the EA needs to be reviewed, so far though 110% happy with Dragonpips for 2009 with EURCHF, maybe next year a different pair will exceed EURCHF in performance and different hours traded also as the market continues to change
chankl78
Re: DRAGONPIPS Thanks for your advice. I will do more on backtest to find my ideal timing for all pair. Utimately, i will try to trade the 4 pairs if Jade margin is enough. Right now, to play safe, i only trade EChf. So far so good.
Mindsphere
Re: DRAGONPIPS Ran this last night and had some interesting results: These first two are set to trade only 1 level, from 19-23 GMT at 0.1 lot size. The 1 level limit seems more profitable in backtests. I would be interested to hear what people think about this - it seems you are only exposing yourself to more risk with more levels, and would be better off increasing your lot size with 1 level than exposing yourself to two stop-loss hits with 2 levels. ryujeans
Re: DRAGONPIPS - Optimized trade execution code to ECN/STP Brokers. (for standard Brokers set ECN_STP = false) If I want to use your version on standard broker's (FXDD) platform, should I set "ECN_STP = false" and leave everything else at default? What do I do with "Extreme Edition" parameters: ATR_Threshold: 20; Slippage: 1? Do I leave the parameters as they are, 20 & 1? FYI, FXDD's spread for EURCHF is normally 4. ryujeans
Re: DRAGONPIPS For backtests use GMTOffset_for_Backtests. Try with differents time ranges starting with 2 hours a day. (ex. 18-20, 19-21, 20-22, 21-23, 22-24, .... etc.). Different Broker price feed got different results. I've been trying to backtest with a fixed lot size (1 standard lot) on FXDD micro account (dime a pip), but the EA would enter 0.01 or 0.02 lot instead of 1 standard lot. My settings for the relevant parts are as follows: Lots: 1 LotsOptimized: false Lot Decimal: 2 MaxTrades: 3 Could you please tell me what to do? By the way, everything else works perfectly OK!
