I've used robinvol on my demo for a while. I believe Ranesh is right.

I used CNS for a while. They're pretty good.
VPS is good if you're far from the server. It also depends on your trading style. Obviously, execution time is crucial if you are scalping and not as crucial if you're swing or trend trading.

EAs work I just don't know if you can let it go completely automated. Most EAs still need intervention from users at some point. You should at least know the basics of forex before jumping into EAs.

Most people will throw away real money for a while before they realize they should be demoing. You should at least prove to yourself that you're profitable for 3-6 months on demo before going live. Even then you may not be profitable when you start playing with real money. Real money = real emotions and if you can't handle your emotions it's gonna be hard for you to trade real.

Also depends on what country you're in. Frank Dodd in the US has made it pretty hard to find good forex brokers.
