Nukem reacted to yamantaka in Bollinger Buddy
I'm going to continue to trade buddy in SIM this week with a 1 minute chart in ES, CL, TF, NG, ZW, and ZS. I'm looking to select 2 markets for cash trading next week if this one looks "typical" of the past month's action. What impresses me is volatility recently hasn't been extreme and yet Buddy is holding it own. Of course, with a daily loss of $600 and profit of $900, targets can get hit quickly.
If this proves to be consistently profitable, it won't be the first time a developer's strategy was improved by an outside beta tester, yours truly in particular. Time will tell and I'll post my findings on a daily basis. I expect the worst and hope for the best.
Reminder, Buddy closes trading at 12:00 EST.

Admis has held this forum up all on his own for some time, truly a very generous thoughtful contributor. I appreciate all your commitment along with the rest of us-Indo junkies, thank you you’re awesome.

Those results may be somewhat accurate but I have doubts, just like when I see fantastic backtests.
Backtesting with NT StrategyAnalyzer is an exercise in futility because all results are COBC=TRUE and other obstacles. You need custom code to overcome these constraints.
Best to trade live or use Market Replay for history.

First of all check your log window. I assume, you know where to find it in NT. Then make sure you have not installed other HP stuff. If you still are walking in the dark, attach your log and chart screen (short guide how to attach picture in the post (thanks to santoshv2k): http://indo-investasi.com/showthread.php/23473-(Req)-Jay-Signal-Trend?p=342522&viewfull=1#post342522 -

Old Rich Staiton is at it again with his mumbo jumbo flim flam marketing spiel claiming this indie is based on where the "institutional algos are trading" and it works in every market. Well, aside from ZB. ZN, ES and occasionally CL, institutional algos don't exist, especially HF ones. Smaller markets can't support the volume. And it's clear from his charts the entries lag which now makes sense knowing there is SMA in the background. I also notice he relies on a divergence indicator to take a setup.
Rich is one of the most prolific indicator developers in this business. Obviously, he hasn't found anything that works consistently so he makes new nice colored indies to market. Nonetheless, I would give it a test drive.

Hi vezpop and rondonelli.
Thanks for Ur postings--How about more images along with desription of how U are using this methodology to capitalize the markets?
Preferably here in Ur post(there is no need for external link for image--some of us have limited internet and makes hard to see)--as long as it took U to upload to external site U could have posted here in the thread(Thanks in advance for this) makes easier for all following your posts.
Thanks again for sharing your experiences with us. Elaboration on your findings are much appreciated!!
Take care and good trading to all!!

The ES Buddy made a profit today. I didn't trade any other markets because all the backtests indicate Friday (and Wednesday) are net losers.

You could try to use one of these following and free tools to record online video or anything else playing on your screen.

Thanks.
I turn off "Current Lock Bar Height/Width". I then anchor the beginning of the selected area at the first bar of the Session. Make sure you pull the other side of the selected area to cover the leading price bar. This will create a real time selection and it will follow the price action. Then trade off of the VAH ,VAL and VPOC. The area between the VAH and the VAL should be avoided for entries. This is the area where the market is in general agreement about the value of the instrument and moves there are wandering, lacking commitment and follow through. I enter on the open of the bar which clears the VAH or VAL (not touching) and the supporting indicators are in agreement, (Volume, Range, Deviation). I put a yellow vertical line to show this agreement. I enter on the open of the next bar.
Recently I am experimenting with requiring the price to come back to the High/Low of the entry bar for Short/Long. These proxy bar bars seem to be dense with price action unlike others which may have little price action movement within a bar. So I am hoping I can get away with that kind of entry. It takes 10 ticks off of my stop loss.
I hope this helps. W
