I've tried the 3rd generation Moving averages. It's amazing, it almosts hugs the course and while beeing smooth. Much better than anything else. Is there anybody who could develop an EA based on these new movering averages?

Looks like the averages have really a huge lag....
I'm personally very happy with the 3rd Generation Moving averages that have the least possible lag :-)

Hi,
looks promising, but with less lag of your moving averages you would certainly get much more pips.
Have a look at the 3rd Generation Moving averages, they perform really good:

Hi,
I would recommend a lag-free moving average like the 3rd Generation MAs
download for free from

In addition you could combine multiple of these lag-free averages and use them as MACD signal. From my experience it is very important to avoid lag of the averages to get the best signal.

Hi,
I stumpled upon an interesting recent scientific publication of M. Dürschner (2011) and think this may be of interest for many traders. Dürschner presented a novel type of Moving average: the 3rd Generation Moving Average. His work gave a mathematical prove that 3rd. Generation MAs have the least theoretically possible lag and demonstrated it using a toy expert advisor system.
For interested ones, the 3rd Generation Moving Average can now downloaded for free from

At the web page you can also find the links to the theoretical paper which was awarded by the German representation of the IFTA (International Federation of technical Analysts).

Hi iho,
yes, I'm using it on EUR/USD too. I traded a couple of good short trades. However, last week I had 3 open short signals in a row and I was wondering whether everything works out. Luckily, it very good close signals (I relied on close signals with a confidence of >=2.) followed soon :-) I would recommend to close open orders upon a close signal if they are in profit or if the close signals change to slilver. Otherwise keep the orders open and wait for the next close signal.
