Thank you for your reply, but I think DDEPayback.exe is a free tiny standalone DDE Server.

 

I just wonder if I can make it as a "general purpose" DDE Server for other trading platforms.

I could see that DDEPlayback is incorporated in Multicharts 8.0, simply in Quotemanager import ASCII data (tick or minute) and reproduce from any date. Another version is for Owndata, same program that Quotemanager, but for Tradestation.

Do you know where I can download this program for Owndata (work with Tradestation)??

Finally, DDEPlayback is a DDE simulator that work with historical data, now incorporated into new versions of Multicharts, but would be interesting to have the Owndata version.

I don´t know if is possible that DDEPlayback work with others programs.

I could see that DDEPlayback.exe for Tradestation work with Owndata, but I haven´t it. In the case of Multicharts DDEPlayback comes within the version 8.0 (also in 6.0 version).

Do you know if "DDEPlayback.exe" for Multicharts is better than DDEPlayback incorporated into Multicharts 8.0??

Where do you get historical intraday data for stocks? Is this what is called IEOD? I cannot access CDFs from the U.S.

Download and install MT4 of AVA FX or GCI broker.

Those MT4 have CFD of Stocks, Index, and Commodities.

Next, open MT4, go to toolbar > Tools > Options > Server (sheet) > Enable DDE (check box).

Now MT4 is able to send real time data to OD 2.7 or Quotemanager of Multicharts.

But the best, is to have a DDE like eSignal, IQFeed, etc. Also, in MC8, I use MBTrading for Forex and Commodities Futures contracts, because have backfilling.

Do you think it's possible to link RTQdownloader to TradeStation and get a live data feed?

I did not try, because RTQ is delayed 15 minutes in real time. For free stock data in real time I connect MT4 of Stock and Index CFD´s broker to OD 2.7. But the only problem is that, send a prices, but not a Volume (in real time). I work only with Commodities.

This connection do not work with backfilling, first you must import historical intraday data, and next connect real time.

MT4 > OD 2.7 > Tradestation

It appears that the only way to import data into TradeStation is through the GlobalServer utility. Does anyone know how to use GlobalServer or know where to get its user's manual? I'd like to import EOD stock data from Yahoo.

For import EOD stock data from Yahoo, you need Owndata, it is not possible with Globalserver, the connection is simple:

Owndata 2.7 > Tradestation 8.7

In OD 2.7 remember select "Switch" (in your PC: "Start" > OD 2.7 > Switch)

1) In Owndata go to the toolbar, and select Data Sources, then you can see Free Quotes (F).

2) Next in the toolbar select: Symbol > Add Symbol > Manually (and select Free Quotes like Data Source, and select Category and Exchange). For example write MSFT symbol.

3) Right button on the symbol and select "Fields to Collect" and check all box.

4) Right button again and select "Connect Symbol" (look below the window), then in the column, to the right, says "Not supported", but this does not have importance, the connection is OK.

5) Open TS 8.7, go the File > New > Workspace, and next open a new Chart (look chart button at left).

6) Now the screen is black, then on the screen right button and select "Format Symbol" (look above the window)

7) In Format Symbol you must write for example F: MSFT and select Daily, then appear a chart. Repeat all for other symbols.

If you, do not add a Symbol from OD 2.7, then of course, this symbol, will not appear on the screen.

No, MC8.NET work only with Indicators in C# and VB.net. For work with ELA, ELS and ELD Indicators or Strategies you must install MC8 easylanguage version.

Not uninstall MC8.NET; only install MC8 EasyLanguage version. Is possible to have both installed, but is convenient to use one each time.

But readme says that the crack work offline , the version online does not exist?

Yes, TS 8.7 work offline, but with real time data from Owndata 2.7 (Quotemanager for MC8). In TS 8.7 you can see real time data into the chart.

All Tradestation work online, only with Tradestation broker.

The difference, is that x32 is for 32 bits, and x64 is for 64 bits system (in your PC).

For connect Metaserver to Multicharts, search and look video in Multicharts.com web site, also for different datafeed. If you want connect MT4 to Multicharts, Metaserver is not necessary, is possible to connect directly.

If you want to see a signal at close of today, then you must modify the Easylanguage code of the Strategy.

For example, in many strategies says:

Buy ("LE") next bar at market;

or

Sellshort ("SE") next bar at market;

Also,

Buy ("LE") next bar at open;

etc...

With this orders you can open a position at open of the next bar.

If you want to see this order on this bar, then:

Buy ("LE") on this bar;

or

Buy ("LE") on this bar at close;

Also, for Sellshort.

Remember to "COMPILE" again when modify any Strategy or Indicator.(Look button on toolbar above).

With the change of order "next bar" to "on this bar", you must make a new backtesting, because the statistics will be different.

You need the Script, "Period Converter". I believe that this Script is included in all MT4. If you do not have this Script, then you can download from this web site:

Apply the Script to 1 minute chart preferentially, and next open the new chart, with different Time Frame from:

File > Open Offline (look toolbar).

Once the new chart was opened, wait a moment, then appear a window, press YES; now you can receive data in real time.

Ok, I understand that you had installed MC8 previously, but this MC8 was build 5620 or 5825?? or other version?? because in my case, the tsserver.exe (crack), and the Emulator (EMU) only work with build 5620 Easylenguage version, and build 5825 for MC8.NET version (both have different EMU).

Also is possible that do not work, because you has registered the old MC8 with other user and login.

In your case, I would uninstall mc8, and delete all hidden folders of installations of MC6 and MC8. For this, search hidden folders in "Documents and Settings" folder (of course previously enable that you can see Hidden Folders from Tools > Options of Folders).

And next reinstall MC8 build 5620, and MC8.NET build 5825 (it is possible to install both).

I istalled MC 8 from luxpg upload, followed the instruction (updated txt file in the windows/system32/driver/etc folder, copied cracked tsserver.exe into MC directory, make sure port 80 is free, run ts auth emulator), then tried to register with registration name: andreybbrv and registration code: [email protected]. Program says invalid registration code and keep asking for correct one. Sometimes launching MC 8 it shows up the end trial screen, asking for registration. One year ago I installed MC 8 trial.

Kindly any suggestion? Anyone experiencing similar issue? Thank you in advance.

Now, do you have installed Multicharts 6 or 6 beta 2 (or any old version)?

Did you uninstall MC6 (or any old version)? and next install MC8?

Because, if you had installed old versions, you must delete old rows in "etc" folder. If not, MC8 will not run adequately.

Ok, in this case the alternative is to start at 9:01 or perhaps, delete this first tick (of 09:00:00); for this, first connect real time, go to QM, select your currency or asset, right click, and select "Edit data", then will open a window, above of this window select "Tick" (Bid, Ask or Trade), press button "Load" and delete this first tick; next you can see your chart from 09:00:01.

In QM, you can set session time in hours and minutes, but not in seconds (09:00, but not 09:00:01). I believe, perhaps that you have a problem for import tick data, because this data is in hours, minutes and seconds, but this is not related to the session hours.

Also, if you want set session hours in 24 hs; you can look for 24/7 (24 hs / 7 days) or 24/5; or adjust time of this mode:
