  1. Does anyone else get a "unable to establist connection to level II server" once or twice a week...QUOTE]

I don't get the error message but my level II does drop out on some instruments from time to time. In earlier versions of NT, it seemed to be a bug in NT, but now I'm pretty sure it is the exchange or my broker's data feed playing up. If it is fixed by restarting though, it certainly looks like an NT problem, or perhaps the broker feed.

  2. I tried new V22 with IB and it still gives TT credit error, I tried to make payment the way we needed to do for V14 and no luck. Anyone find a work around yet?

    Thanks

The v22 crack never worked with TT credits, but what do you hope to gain by using v22 with IB? NT hasn't made any upgrades to its IB interface since v14. V22 won't give you anything new (it's slower and buggy, in fact, from my brief trial). However, if you need upgraded v22 files for other brokers, along with TT credits, why don't you try installing v22 then copy over the v14 ninjatradercore.dll. That should give you the new broker files with TTs, though not enhancements in the core.dll (not sure there is any, anyway). That always worked for me in pre-v14 versions.

  3. NT told IB users today just to upgrade to TWS 944.3 anyway! No new NT version. I guess we'll have to guinea pig it to see what the bugs are before they bring out v23. It's working fine for me but I don't trade NYSE or Nasdaq stocks.
  4. How do you find the tick data from IB ,everyone says its bad. I use alot of order flow and VProfile... was wondering?

Live tick data works fine for my purposes, but I'm not a high frequency trader and trade mostly off 5m charts, so tick data is not really an issue for me. But, yeah, IB doesn't have a great name for tick data, and IB historical data sucks.

  5. ptop, what sort of issues did you have with TWS 944 regarding NYSE and Nasdaq data? I bit the bullet and installed 944 and it works fine with v14 for me. Trades are no problem. and data, including level II looks fine. Looks like a typical TWS upgrade from IB - pointless, with new features that 99.9% of traders don't want and won't use.
  6. I'm hoping we'll have a working v23 soon, and new versions just install over the top. I'm sure it's possible to get v22 working for IB, but I'm no hacker and haven't got a spare trading day for testing at the moment.
  7. Sepa do you have a download link for 940. All I see is 944 and 939 on IB's site. Want to give it a try myself. Thanks

Google "download tws 940". I found this site: www.trade-commander.com/download/download.htm

There's a bunch of them there, including 943, but I'm not game to try it (or anything I don't have to) just at the moment. Make a copy of your C:/Jts directory before you install it, just in case.

  8. I thought with the legal version of NT you only had to get TT credits for Static SuperDOM and not chart trader or dynamic Dom? I know with V14 cracked that I had to apply TT credits with IB, does the new V.22 also need TT credits with IB and chart trader?

You bought TT credits? No need to if you have v14 installed properly. Maybe you are running the wrong emulator.

Sepa, Which emulator is working best for v14 for being able to trade live thru the Static Dom on IB without having TT fees, I have read thru this thread and seems there are a few files. Thanks for the help..

I've always used (and still use) v5.03 with no problems, but Thaomoua has modified the emulator and come up with v5.06 (see post #363) to change the expiry date, so you could try that.

Has anyone seen the email about IB requiring TWS be upgraded to 940. Not good if using NT7 v14 thru IB

Yeah! NT always leaves broker interface upgrades until they absolutely have to, so I guess we'll see v23 with an IB upgrade in a week or two. Let's hope it supports the latest TWS (944?) but I wouldn't bet on it. So, if anyone is toiling away on a version of v22 with TT credits, maybe hold off until v23, though I'm sure a workaround will be found.

In the meantime, I have upgraded from TWS 938 to 940 to test it out with v14. All looks good so far. No problems with Nasdaq and NYSE data. Let you know if there are any problems.

  9. So how does v14 work with TT fees then, is there any way around it or can I buy them legit and use it if I have to?

No problem with TT credits in v14. It just works. I don't think you can buy TTs legit if you don't have a legit version of NT, but no need to. I know people who have legit NT, but use the non-legit version just to avoid the TTs.

  10. Thanks for the info Sepa, so by using v14 instead of v22 will I be able to trade live thru IB? or were you saying that one cant trade live thru any version?

No problems trading live with v14 thru IB. I've been trading live with it for months now, years with earlier versions.

What if ai use Rithmic and I dont use Static SuperDom,then I dont need to pay dor TT credit right? because i enter trades on the charts or using JS Dom only?

Hmm, interesting, I never thought of that one. Trading through IB's Booktrader dom doesn't attract fees, though I rarely use it and don't like it nearly as much as the SuperDom. After placing the trade with Booktrader, though, you can then trade via NT's Chart Trader, so I guess you can avoid TT fees that way.

  11. Does anyone know if this works with the Kinetick CME data feed discount program?

I get reduced fees from Kinetick/ CME data feeds by having NT and IB as a broker.

Seems to work fine in all regards, except when you try to trade on a live account using TT credits. You should get the feed, but will not be able to place a trade though IB. Given there is no real benefit between 7.14 and 7.22 for IB account holders, I'd stick with 7.14. In fact, 7.22 had a lag connecting to the broker and it did some strange things, but I'm not sure if the crack, NT's programming, or my clunky old Win7 computer was the problem.

For others who need 7.22 to connect to their broker, and need TT credits to trade, then surely the very talented people here, who have put in some fine work, can fix the TT credits. Btw, thaomoua's Emulator v 5.06 expiry date 2020 works great with 7.14.

Also, looking back through the posts here, I'm not sure it's wise to abuse andreybbv. OK, he's a businessman, and it would be nice if he gave us upgrades for free, but we wouldn't have NT7 at all if it wasn't for his genius. He gave us NT7 for free in the first place (albeit to sell us upgrades), but he's our best bet if we want NT8 when it comes out.

But that doesn't mean we can't crack the cracker ;)

  12. NT 7.0.1000.22 not working! Missed a winner this morning thanks to this thing. Looks OK until you try to trade live - no TT credits. Anybody got a fix?

Is NT 7.0.1000.22 compatable with TWS 944?

NT says no. There's been no upgrades for the IB adapter since ver 14, which I'm now going to have to reinstall. The only meaningful changes between ver 14 and 22 are if you use other brokers: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/helpGuides/nt7/index.html?release_notes.htm

  13. Thanks for your perseverance FX_SuperTrader. your efforts are much appreciated, but I've given up on this one. I've already tried varying the headers, but Owndata picks it out correctly anyway, and I really do think it's a bug in TS 8.6 (or the crack), and I just can't afford to waste anymore time on it. If I need volume data I can always assign it as Up (or Down) volume and use that.
  14. Hi FX_SuperTrader,

Yeah, I tried all that, read all the data import instructions in TS, and I'm aware that volume is an indicator, but TS just will not import volume data. ASCII Data Import in Owndata correctly allocates the volume column, but if I open Data Window on a TS chart, volume shows as Up=0 Down=0.

The bogus way TS allocates volume appears to be the problem. If you import a data file directly into TS, it will divide volume evenly between Up and Down, which is rather pointless. If you import via Owndata, TS doesn't pick up volume at all.

And you wonder why I call this a dog of a program :)) The software is riddled with fleas (I mean bugs) and it will bite you if you try to use any other data feed except TS!

  15. Many thanks FX SuperTrader. Perhaps I was a bit hasty in my assessment of TS. I have used a number of trading platforms, but TS it is certainly not very intuitive to use, though I guess none are the first time you use them.

I would have thought data import would be a straightforward function in TS, but it's not. I'm using 8.6 under win7 64-bit (8.7 kept freezing and I don't want to use an xp emulator), and while I have worked out how to import ASCII files through Format > Lookup (not an easy process), whenever I try to run a strategy, it gets stuck on a "Waiting for data...", "Waiting for symbol attributes ..." loop.

If I import ASCII data via Owndata, strategies will work, but for some reason I can't get volume, only OHLC. But that's OK, I'm just running price strategies. For now.

But what a hassle. Thanks for the video links but, really, you shouldn't have to use third party software to do a simple function like data import.

I can see TS has some nice functions, and it seems like less of a memory hog than NT, but I won't be using it for trading, and its data interface is lousy. The big advantage of TS is that it has been around for years and there's a mountain of indicators and strategies written for it, and that's what I want to use it for - strategy testing and data analysis.

  16. Thanks Traderbeauty. I have no intention of switching from Ninja to TS. TS is a dog of program compared to Ninja, especially these cracked versions. I just want to get it working enough to run some data analysis that could prove very useful for my trading strategies. IB data is more than adequate for my purposes. I only need to test one minute data, and I don't trade forex (that is a good way to hurt yourself, imho), only futures.

All I really want is a stable version of TS and some advice on how to import ASCII data easily, so I can run some strategies on it.

  17. I trade with Ninjatrader but have a bunch of interesting Tradestation strategies I want to use and figured it would be easier just to run them on Tradestation than rewrite them for Ninja.

Maybe not. I've searched through this forum and all of its conflicting information, broken download links, etc and still can't get any version of patched TS working properly. I've got 8.6 and 8.7 with Owndata 2.7 both working on windows 64-bit with an interactive brokers data feed, but ASCII import doesn't work and comes up with messages like Data request failed: incorrect symbol and Client Access Layer not working and then it hangs. I did manage to get an ASCII import to work via Owndata one time, but not working now. So can anyone help me with:

    1) What is the best stable version of Tradestation to use with Windows 64-bit? Preferably with a feed for futures via owndata or some other program.

    2) What is the easiest way to get ASCII import working (native import not working for me in 8.6 or 8.7). This is more important for me than a broker feed because I'm looking mostly to test historical data, which I already have from Ninjatrader.

  18. FYI, NT8 indicators will need complete rewrites of their NT7 versions; ie., none of the 'work' performed here will thus continue to work on NT8, including DLLs, protected or not. And, rest assured, there will be another level of 'protection' introduced into the NT8 DLLs, ie., all commercial indicators.

IMO hardly a compelling reason to switch to NT8. Hopefully they make it significantly faster, but, when the goal of all of us should be to make $$$, this seemingly relentless pursuance to get NT 7.0.1000.14, NT8, or NT whatever, ... is rather silly.

I agree, NT8 is unlikely to be much more useful than NT7. IMO, NT7 didn't do much more than NT6.5, apart from lots of bells and whistles like Renko charts that I'll never use, though it was noticeably slower and buggy. Updates like 7.0.1000.14 have fixed a few bugs, and accommodate forever changing broker feeds, but the continual push for the latest software, the newest edition, is the malaise of our times, not so much of silly distracted consumers like us but profit-driven producers.

The main reason behind software editions is to force you to buy the new one, because the old one is no longer supported. I'd be happy if NT7 lasts more than a couple of years, survives Windows 12 and Intel i57, but even the hackers will stop supporting it when NT8 comes out.

  19. I wish I had more time to take care of that issue.... I could probably modify v5.02 to work with NTCore v14, and change that port to something like 9999 8-)

No need if v5.03 and v5.01 work. The challenge is to find out how the cracked dll directs registration to port 80, and whatever else it does, then apply that to version 15 dll and beyond when they come out :)

  20. I had 7.0.7 with lic emu 5.01 running and just started to update to V14 but I had some trouble during this...

First of all the emu v5.03 seems to work just for X64 systems. V5.04 isn't working for me at all. But the Emu 5.01 is still working.

So actually im jusing NT V14 with the new core.dll but the old Emu (5.01).

I think the only bad thing on this combination is the expiry date or??

    Appreciate your help...

Cracked NT7 v14 will load with emu v5.01, but I always though v5.01 had trouble with TT credits, which meant you couldn't trade live. But if you can trade live, or otherwise get around the trading credits problem, great. Use v5.01.

Btw, I've test it with v5.02 - definitely doesn't work - and tried to download v5.04 in post #61 but my virus checker (ESET) flagged it as a trojan.
